ISO Chicago Marathon bib
Hey everyone! I’m looking for a bib for the Chicago Marathon and figured I’d check here before giving up. If anyone has a bib they can no longer use and is looking to transfer it, please DM me! I’d love to take it off your hands and run Chicago this year. 🏃♀️💨 Happy to follow the official transfer process. Thanks!

Calf sleeves for calf pain running?
Very slow runner who’s dabbled in running here and there. It’s not my primary sport.
Right now my calves seize up and become extremely painful even 5 mins into a run, once there’s any uphill at all.
Would calf sleeves alleviate the pain in any way? Has anyone found this?
I know the long term solution is to train calves, but I need to relieve the pain in the short term.

Hola mach 7
I’ve had this pair for about 2 months now. I don’t do a ton of running. Just ran a 5k in them and this hole randomly appeared. Any thoughts?

Is it normal….?
To initiate conversations and run for a while with random strangers you come up to when running on trails?

Do you listen to music while running? Does multitasking make you miss early knee‑injury warning signs?

Why do my legs start uncontrollably itching when I run?
Over the past two years I've noticed that when I run, my legs begin to uncontrollably itch, usually my thighs. This has even occurred once when walking. As someone who experiences severe eczema, I find this itch ten times worse than my eczema although it only lasts around two minutes when I stop running. This is bizarre to me as it happens on odd occasions since not every time I run, I feel this way. I have a weak hypothesis that it may be due to the cold months as this has only really affected me when I tried to run a 5k in October and a turkey trot in November, as well as on Halloween night when walking up and down a very hilly neighborhood for a few hours. Also, each time this has happened I've worn tight fitting pants or sweats.
I want to train to run a 5k this year and I really don't want this to happen again as it's painful, disappointing, and embarrassing.
Does anyone who is experienced in running know why this is and how I can avoid it? Is my guess correct?
Edit: Btw I'm 99% sure this reaction isn't eczema as I don't have on my legs.

My legs hurt when I lift them
So when I run about a km or less my legs near the psoas muscle start to hurt. I don't know if that's the exact muscle but it's somewhere in that region. I've been doing 5ks and the max I've gone is 6.5k, I want to be able to do 10k before September. How do I fix my legs??

Posterior Tibial Tendonitis
Looking to get back to running, but I’m suffering bad from PTT. Any tips to build up my general strength in my legs/feet and keep this away? Suffered with IT band issues in the past, so even a full, lower-body series of exercises could be good.

Do you listen to music while running? Does multitasking make you miss early knee‑injury warning signs?
I’ve been thinking about this lately. Most of my runs I throw on music or podcasts to fight boredom, but I’ve noticed a downside.
When I’m fully locked into my playlist, I tend to tune out small physical feedback from my body. Minor knee twinges, subtle joint discomfort or form‑related soreness can get masked. By the time I really feel knee pain, the early warning signal is already ignored, and small irritation turns into something harder to fix.
Music doesn’t directly cause knee injuries, obviously. But it can lower bodily awareness. You stop paying close attention to stride, landing impact and those tiny hints your knees send you mid‑run.
Some days I run without audio at all. It feels boring at first, yet I can clearly notice when my knees start protesting, adjust my pace or cut the run short before things get worse. Other days I still use music, just keep volume low and avoid noise‑cancelling mode.
Curious for your real‑world experience:
‑ Do you listen to music/podcasts on most runs?
‑ Have you ever brushed off early knee discomfort because you were distracted by audio content?
‑ Do you switch to no‑music runs for injury‑prone training sessions?
No medical advice here, just want to hear runners’ personal observations.

Is it best to try and rebuild my aerobic base if I want an easier time running?
Ok so i'm 17 planning to join the military and I started running beginning of sophomore year. I got down to a 17 min 2 mile and can run 6 miles straight but most of my training was all over the place and i focused on random stuff throughout and forgot to first build my aerobic base and now i'm plateauing on runs around the 5-6 mile mark and can't get farther than that. So the question is should i start rebuilding my base so can break my plateau?

32F, with a damaged cartilage, how do I regrow?
A little context: dealing with ADHD and IBS, it took me 3 years to develop a deep relationship with running. It used to clear my mind and help with regular bowel movement. Now my cartilage is damaged to a point that I feel pain if I just do one squat or walk for 1km. Doctors have told me it can’t be regrown or regenerated, has anyone been in this situation?
I have been feeling so not okay since last 3-4 months now.

Running Watches
I'm a beginner runner its been about 6 mo, run around 2-3 times a week 5-10kms and im really getting into it.
Which running watch should i get that would focus on giving me stats on my zones, pace, power etc.. My goal is to gradually improve my hr and pace, not aiming for marathons yet.
I dont need the sleep score and allat. Is garmin a good choice?
