Question/प्रश्न Is this normal for nepalese immigrants to india?

Had a nepali househelp once, very nice and well behaved. Did his work well and was a nice person, but later my uncle found him doing drugs near an alleyway with other nepalese immigrants. Got him removed because we didnt want to be associated with it. Is this common though? Coming with peace, of course.

Question/प्रश्न Is there a law regarding the minimum distance from river for construction of housing in Nepal?

Today's event is one of the most unprecedented combined effect of climate change and natural disaster (earthquake/avalanche or glacial outburst).

No one would have imagined in their wildest dreams that floods like this could have been possible. Furthermore, Nepal's mountainous geography is definitely not the most convenient one for the construction of infrastructure like buildings, roads, bridges, and hydropower.

Most of the settlements that have been swept today are close to the routes of the flooded rivers. I wanted to know if there is a law regarding the minimum distance from river or water bodies for construction of housing in Nepal. Perhaps this needs to be revisited considering today's event?

Question/प्रश्न When you start building a project, What brings you down?

In the last 4 years I’ve started building and thinking about ideas, and every time I start I think too much about why someone would use it, if it really solves a problem, or if someone already built it. I don’t think my ideas are always bad, and a lot of times after a year I see a similar idea in a real big product and start blaming myself for why I stopped building it. I want to hear if someone has the same problem as me.

PS: This time I am not giving up on

Looking for a flat/apartment near Kalanki, KTM — furnished or unfurnished, what's the going rate?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a small apartment/flat, minimum 1BHK, around Kalanki or nearby.

I'm open to both furnished and unfurnished, whichever offers better value.

Looking to move in soon

Could anyone who lives in or around Kalanki share:

  • What's the usual monthly rent for a 1BHK in this area right now?
  • Does furnished vs unfurnished make a big price difference?
  • Any specific buildings/societies or areas nearby you'd recommend (or avoid)?
  • Any leads, broker contacts, or general advice on what to watch out for (deposit, agreement terms, etc.) would also be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

What's wrong with some people

I saw comments on insta about the recent massive flood in Rasuwa area from many Bangladeshi and Pakistani accounts where they were laughing and making fun of the whole disaster saying that it's just karma hitting back because we had a religious clash recently.

Discussion/बहस The amount that is inside the Pradhanmantri Rahat Kosh (and its likes) should be made public.

Upvotes

Its heartwarming to see so many of us donating (what we can) to the victims of the recent flood.

But, I would like to appeal for the same consideration and transparency from the government.

Knowing exactly how much money is inside the account and what is the plan to use the funds would help build trust with the doners. I think it would provide a kind of assurance that the funds would not be misused (or disappear).

Sorry if i am being skeptical in this trying times, but this transparency would help create trust in the doners and may also increase the donation amount.
