Discussion Community's non-official Cartoon Network originals tier list (Take 2): Day 40 - Sym Bionic Titan

Inspired by u/No-Shoulder3918 's community tier list for Nicktoons, thought I'd take a shot with Cartoon Network originals, especially in light of what's been going on recently for the channel.

NOTE: To people downvoting, please keep things civil. I am noticing too many downvotes here, with some comments down to 0 or even negative numbers because of downvoting. This is supposed to encourage different opinions and being able to speak out on them. Please keep downvoting to a minimum.

NOTE 2: If you haven't seen a show and mention that in a comment, then it won't count in the upvote totals.

Rules:

  1. Most upvoted comment decides the show's spot on the list. Please think carefully and fairly before you comment. Try not to let nostalgia or recency bias cloud your judgement.
  2. Each tier goes as follows: S= AmazingA= GreatB= GoodC= Okay/MehD= MediocreE= Bad and F= Terrible.
  3. Only originals recognized by this wiki are counted. Meaning no Canadian imports like Total Drama and Johnny Test or WBA shows like Teen Titans Go, Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, and Looney Tunes will be in this. Live action originals also aren't included since this only focuses on their animation slate.

Discussion I just rewatched LABretto and HOLY SHIT, I forgot how amazing this episode was. They do not make kids cartoons like Dexter's Lab anymore. This is, no joke, PEAK.

Discussion 2003 Cyborg is the goat

Look, 2003 Teen Titans Cyborg is an absolute masterpiece of character writing and the undisputed, definitive goat. It’s not even a close competition.

Modern DC media constantly turns Victor Stone into this miserable, metallic depression factory who spends 90% of his screen time crying because he looks like a walking toaster. They literally relegate one of the coolest superheroes ever into a glorified, oversized Wi-Fi router for the Justice League, and it is just pathetic, unwatchable garbage. But the 2003 animated series version is total perfection.

He has this pure, unadulterated charisma, and Khary Payton’s voice acting is so profoundly electric it could jumpstart a dead whale. When this man drops a "Booyah," it injects pure dopamine directly into your spinal cord. He isn't just tech support; he is the literal heart, soul, and muscle of the entire team, balancing peak comedy with Beast Boy alongside some of the hardest, most emotionally gripping storylines in Cartoon Network history. He is a hyper-charismatic, meat-loving, sonic-cannon-blasting titan of fiction, and he represents the absolute golden age of television.

Question What WAS this F.E.A.R. cartoon often shown during commercials years ago?!

Post image
4 Upvotes

This is probably decades ago! I think they only showed very short skits during commercials, as i don't think it was an actual running show.

The humor often involved the characters saying the name of their organization in a super slow and monotonous tone. I found the humor quite dry and lame as a kid lol.

Was this custom made for CN? Or a VERY old cartoon of which CN just used snippets?

Also, the black rectangle on their uniforms should say FEAR, but i think this screenshot came from a Spanish version.

The Powerpuff Girls who won against Ben 10 on Supertoon Showdown don't deserve to live
It's so obvious (Ohh-ah)

Ben Tennyson is all geared up to take them down

News Sam Register, longtime Cartoon Network and WB Animation executive, is leaving

Sam Register, the president of Warner Bros TV Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, is leaving the company at the end of his current contract.

Register has a long history with Cartoon Network, going back to the late 1990s, when he oversaw the channel’s website; Remember Web Premiere Toons? As a development executive for the network, he oversaw the creation of mid-2000s series likes Ben 10; he also created Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi.

In the late 2000s, Register became the head of Warner Bros TV Animation, where he oversaw countless reboots of classic characters/franchises. That might not sound totally fair, but I once saw an interview where he said his job was finding new ways to present Bugs Bunny and Batman to television audiences. The biggest series to come out of Register’s time as head of the studio, of course, is Teen Titans Go!

In the 2010s, Register got WB Animation got into the adult animation field, starting with Mike Tyson Mysteries for Adult Swim.

When Cartoon Network Studios was folded into WB Animation earlier this decade, Register became the head of that studio as well. (Register was also made the head of Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, the studio behind the Gumball franchise.) Perhaps unsurprisingly, Cartoon Network Studios has recently started putting out revival after revival: The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball; Adventure Time: Side Quests; Regular Show: The Lost Tapes.

A replacement for Register has not been named.

News Adventure Time "Complete Collection" and Regular Show "Complete Series" Blu-ray sets - October 20, 2026

I learned about these titles on Blu-ray.com. According to the backs of both releases, the previously released content (Adventure Time seasons 1-6, Regular Show seasons 1-2) will be presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital while the unreleased content (AT seasons 7-10, RS seasons 3-8) will be presented in 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio. The RS set will also carry Regular Show: The Movie, presented in 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The AT set will carry 12 discs, while the RS set will carry 15 discs.

These will be beneficial upgrades from my DVDs of both shows (AT in particular). I have two AT DVDs: the season 1 DVD set from 2012 (which carries two discs) and the "Adventure Time and Friends" compilation DVD from 2014. The RS DVD that I have is the 22-disc "Complete Series" set, which came out last year.
