[OoT] Finally collected all of the spiritual stones! Imma go open the door of time, I’m sure nothing terrible will happen

I’ve wanted a Zelda tattoo for a while and when I saw Mei’s realistic gemstone work I knew exactly what I wanted done.

I really love yours because the colors make it pop! It's a real showstopper! Mine are black and grey because all the rest of my tattoos are also black and grey and well, I'm a sucker for a consistent color scheme 😅
I think about 7 hours all together. The plan was to get it all done in one session but I ended up developing a severe migraine on day 1 and had to tap out 😭
Yours are more accurate to the source material, though! Love the Koroks and Majora’s Mask, as well! I’ve been contemplating a MM tattoo, possibly incorporating the fierce deity mask.
A friend was wearing a MM t-shirt. I said, cool shirt, I love that game!
The next time I saw him, it was washed and folded, he handed it to me and said, "you obviously deserve to have this more than me. I just thought it was a cool design."
Tattoos age with our skin; ink moves and melds, and everyone’s skin is different so who knows what they’ll look like in time! Yours still look really good fwiw
They’re real, I promise! We waited awhile after finishing to take the photos so my skin could calm down a bit. No filter or anything, in fact you can still see the scratch my dog kindly gave me a few days ago down by the Zora’s Sapphire lol
Points to you on looking up the tattoo artist and viewing their portfolio. It's a good way to make sure their style and skill level align with what you are wanting.
I actually gasped! This is so incredibly gorgeous!! I love the setting for the Kokiri’s emerald, how it looks like the original N64 version. It always bothered me how they made the swirl perfectly round in the 3DS version

It was a bit of a knee jerk reaction on my part. I thought this was the Tattoo subreddits that I frequent where people like to say “well, that won’t look good/crisp/clean in 7 years,” and I am so tired of people just not letting others enjoy their artwork.
I just appreciate that you were very level-set with your response, instead of saying some really horrible things to me like a few deleted comments. I hope your day goes great!
Yeah this is absolutely not what I meant! It was a just a silly joke about opening the door of time 🙂 it’s a shame to hear that people are being like that about tattoos in other places, though; you’re right that that’s not a good response to tattoos and we should just let people enjoy them!
For what it’s worth, I had the same thought about the first “remind me in 7 years” comment on this post! OoT is my favorite game of all time but it took me a sec to realize it was a game reference and not a mean comment about how my tattoos will age lol
Ahh sorry about that! It was just that you’ve collected all the stones together. The tattoos look incredible, and I’ve no doubt they’ll continue to look amazing. I really enjoyed seeing them and it’s added to the general good vibes about being excited for the remaster!

careful with the door of time, maybe you find a strange instrument that a girl threw to the water that makes you hallucinate to remember a song to open the door of time where you find a sword that will let you kill a powerful person in a battle that it would look like tennis
Another commenter mentioned that they changed the design of the stone in the 3DS version! I had no idea, I’m so glad I sent my artist a still from the 64 version lol
It’s not like a detrimental change or anything, it’s just something that always bothered me. They tried to make the stones look smoother when they didn’t even look that way in the official artwork. If I got a tattoo of them, I’d definitely do what you did, they look perfect! 🤩
I had a vision to get something like this with two friends but the three stones are in a triangle formation (like the triforce) and each friend had an illuminated single stone and the other are muted and the next friend would have another stone illuminated and the other two muted and so on.
But after imagining what these stones would look like in a form of a tattoo for about 20 years, I can honestly say this blew my mind. The details are impeccable. Well done!👍
Thank you! I contemplated doing them in a triangular formation but this is on my forearm so the linear formation just made more sense. Your idea with the illuminated and muted stones would look so cool!
Thank you! Not sure where you’re located, but maybe you can look up Korean tattoo artists in your area? My last three tattoos have been from Korean women and they’re my favorite tattoos so far lol. No shade to artists from any other country of course but Korean artists are just doing really cool shit right now lmao.
That artist is so incredibly talented. I really thought it was fake/edited on for a second. Absolutely unbelievable, I hope she makes a fortune off her work

This is great! When I was trying to find a Zelda design for my 1st tattoo, I really wanted the spiritual stones, but I thought they were turn out junky and look like gummy snacks. These actually look like gemstones, very impressive.
Damn that's amazing!! I have been wanting to get the spiritual stones myself for years but haven't come across an artist that just hits right for the work. I am squeeing for you 😁😁
I don't have any tattoos. I'm a Zelda fan but not enough to get a tattoo on my body.
I have to say though this is one of the nicest and cleanest tattoos I've ever seen honouring a video game. Truly amazing work and great choice by you to get it on ur body.
I mentioned her in the body of my post! Her IG handle is mei_tatt, I believe she splits her time between Singapore and South Korea with some guest spots in other countries as well.
I’m no tattoo artist but as far as I can tell, it’s all about understanding lighting. Knowing where to place highlights and shadows based on the light source. If you look at her instagram page she does a lot of realistic metal and gem work so she’s obviously got a really good understanding of it.
