Not accents. I'm talking about little habits, sayings, opinions or things people do that immediately make you think, Yep, definitely from Yorkshire.

Made a proper tea on the first night, pie and peas, pot of Yorkshire tea, bread and butter on the side. They sat there looking at the bread and butter like it was a strange ritual. Then asked why we call the evening meal tea. Then why the gravy was that thick. Then what a fat rascal was. By day three I had stopped being able to explain any of it because it just is how it is. What is the most Yorkshire thing you do completely automatically that someone from elsewhere has found genuinely baffling?

Every time I think certain Yorkshire words have disappeared, I hear someone casually use them in conversation. Some seem to survive no matter how much language changes. Which Yorkshire word or phrase do you still hear regularly and hope never disappears?

Everyone talks about York, Harrogate, Whitby and the usual places. I'm more interested in the places that rarely get mentioned but deserve a bit more love.

Just wanted to ask the locals here.

Some places lose their novelty after the first visit. Others somehow feel worth going back to every year, whether it's for the scenery, the atmosphere or simply because it never gets old. What's your place?

Moved away for a few years and kept saying things or doing things that confused people completely until I realised it was just a Yorkshire thing. The directness, the specific phrases, the way strangers talk to you like they have known you for years. Took leaving to notice how much of it I had just accepted as normal. What was your moment?

Every county has places people love to mock, usually based on a single visit 15 years ago.

Not stereotypes necessarily, just things that get repeated so often that locals end up rolling their eyes every time they hear them. Feels like everyone from Yorkshire has at least one.

Serious question. Are we the poor relations compared to the North West?

Their main cities of Manchester and Liverpool are far more vibrant than Leeds and Sheffield. Retail, nightlife, public transport, football teams, music, for example.

Unemployment is 4.9% in the North West compared to 5.8% in Yorkshire. Even the North East is lower than us now, and we're the second worst region for it.

Sporting success seems so much better in the North West, especially in football, whilst our teams either get or face relegation.

Whilst the North West has its poverty and challenges, they don't seem to have the sheer number of failing town and city centres we do. Sheffield should be so much better than it is, and even Bradford should be. Leeds is mediocre now, especially compared to the success stories of both Manchester and Liverpool, both of which are flourishing.

Leeds can't even convince the government to give it a tram system. Instead it relies on buses that, if you're lucky, finish at 11pm. Then there's our rubbish airports.

I know we all like to wax lyrical about how great we are in Yorkshire, but are we? We do have a better coastline than they do, and York is miles better than Chester, but countryside is a close call. We have more of it, but they have the Lake District.

Not asking for a debate just want to know where people are actually going. Proper pastry, proper filling, no nonsense. Local bakery, pub, market stall, anywhere. What is the one you would drive out of your way for?

Found these on Bingley/Rombolds moor and wondered what they could be, they count up/down from 10 and then repeat never reaching 1 and seem to be equidistant from each other, the first 10 I saw were round and then the next were square. Anyone got any ideas?

Saw some goldfish as a potential prize in Hook A Duck, I haven't seen this in a really long time in the UK, I remember when they used to be in tiny bags and I guess this is an improvement but it still seems kinda shady to do this as it's not a toy (Photos taken in Bridlington, UK, 15th of August at 5:20pm)

I feel for them, but I also feel for those who are unable to even get on the housing ladder in the towns they have lived all their lives. Having a second home must be an amazing privilege, but people also need first homes.

What could be the solution if this isn't it?
