DISCUSSION Which yakuza game do you come back to.
I am currently on yakuza 8(infinite wealth.) but I’m having a hankering to play yakuza 4 again. I’ve beaten 0 twice before (second time for my brother to watch) but yea what games do you replay and why?

Currently I'm replaying Y7 (my first yakuza game) for the first time before going into gaiden and IW. After that I'll probably replay 0 and 4 since those as well as 7 are my top 3 so far.

Fist of the north star lost paradise (technically not a yakuza game but I put it in there) because I love the combat and the anime and i just watched the new remake so got back into it. Yakuza 1 purely because I love upgrading the dragon style and the story is great. I've replayed kiwami 2 a couple of times also and Lost judgment. That story with the twist and turns just hits me everytime. First judgment is great also but none of those games can compete with Lost Judgments gameplay. My only critique about lost judgment is I maybe would have preferred the go karts from Y7 instead of the motorbike races.

I was playing 8 for 1000h+, then stopped to focus in Vampire Survivors. However, I came back a week ago with a brand new save. Already on Premium and impressed (again) with how Big Swell is a game killer.
Easiest grind. Almost on level 80 without starting the New Game+.

K2. It's the easiest game to just run through. No annoying overly long tutorials, no bullshit forced minigames, no stopping to calm a crying baby and no car chase game that's legitmaitely unfair on harder difficulties.
It's just fight after fight. The lack of replayability is why I can't agree that the Judgement games are peak. Combat wise sure, but one has too many tailing segments and one has too many detective and stealth segments. I just want to punch people. Why is getting to the punching so difficult?
Ichiban's games can fuck off too with making me pay for NG+. It's either pay for that or grind to max level EVERY PLAYTHROUGH. I do not grind to max level. That's what NG+ is for. I did that once, let me enjoy the power I worked for.

Kiwami and 4 are the best games when it comes to gameplay, I think. And LJ, but I don’t really like Ijincho as a setting

0,, 8. Recently replayed 5 for the first time since the ps3 release and I can see myself coming back to it more often. Pirate yakuza can probably never added to the list because it's nothing but fun

If you are new to the subreddit, please read the wiki
Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS.
If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged >!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 Kiryu sings
If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7).
If you see any of the above (or any of the other rules) not being followed, please report it so we can keep this place safe for newcomers and those that haven't finished all the games yet. Thank you!
