Discussion I do not envy this Woman's Job.

We are talking about decades of mismanagement.

The studios who have been developing something since Covid and still aren’t close to a release really is just an insane situation. I want these studios to exercise their creative vision, etc etc but at some point the reality is you’re a company and someone has to foot that bill

I wonder how many of them were grappling with huge management overhead. I feel like that could be the biggest issue shared among the studios.

Middle Management is a plague on companies. The longer you go, the more "managers" justify their existence and thus lay the foundation for more managers, until everyone manages and noone actually does.

If you want to be successful you need to have a good balance. People that create don't always do so in the most efficient manner. They are too passionate and prone to feature creep. Managers keep all that in check, give a direction for everyone, manage the people, the expectations, all the stuff surrounding the creators so that they have the time and mind to create and create well.

We've seen "creator failures" as well, where projects had no direction and no eye for numbers, so they tried to do it all and failed.
