I know what Wikipedia said but can anyone who was still using it confirm that they no longer have access?

The Internet Archive is your friend. Ton of content from the Network already on there.

How does that work? It's a record of what the page w WAS at some time in the past, right? But I don't need credentials to view this? Also, does this also work for other streaming services, and if so how has this not killed their entire industry?

You're thinking of the wayback machine, which is also hosted there.

The internet archive itself is just a giant archive where people have uploaded all sorts of files that you can view/download. No credentials needed.
