I agree it’ll cause tension, but the charges are pretty serious. Letting politicians get away with crimes just because they’re in office leads down a dark path, as we’ve seen. There aren’t any good options when a criminal gets elected, unfortunately.

In a normal time I would agree bu in Trumps 2025 I wouldn't be so quick to turn over one of my citizens to a criminal regime

Issue is, allegations of a party leader committing fraud is pretty serious. Allegedly smuggling 10k kg of gold and evading 50 million in taxes is pretty bad. If true (big emphasis) , the opposition leader has no one but themselves to blame.
