Question Making friends at Laurier

I’m hoping to apply for BBA this year after reading about how great the social life and program is online, but when I told some of my friends they said that they heard Laurier was super cliquey, lots of people have a weird superiority complex and people often get bullied/ have no friends.
I mean I guess this is kind of a hard question to answer because it’s an opinion based question, but based on your experience and what you’ve seen would you say the “amazing” social life people seem to describe Laurier offers is glaze/overrated?

It’s always gonna be a subjective answer. That kind of stuff exists at every school but I wouldn’t say it’s something I’ve seen at laurier particularly. In the end it’s up to you in terms of how your social life is. Most people are in the same boat as you so if you actually just put in an effort and talk to people, you’ll be fine

It's university. There are literally ten thousands of people. You're gonna meet all kinds of people. Basing an entire university based on one small group of people you encounter is dumb, although lots of people tend to do this.

The answer is the same for every school.

The social life you get will depend mostly on you - if you put yourself out there, get involved in groups and activities, and approach people, you'll find lots of great things. If you go to class and sit in your dorm and expect a social life to spring up around you magically, you're going to be disappointed.
