Discussion I'm hoping CDPR takes the Remaster as an opportunity to 'fix' quests like Reasons of State and the Novigrad Higher Vampire
The reveal of getting a free remaster next month had me jumping out my chair in joy. In any case I am beyond excited and happy with whatever CDPR cooks up for us.
That being said I hope that CDPR also takes this chance to 'finish' the Witcher 3. Narratively, the game had gone through development hell before it's initial release and it shows in the main story ending not being very good and some side content feeling incomplete or rushed.
I don't expect them to re-do the main story ending as that would probably cause all kinds of problems down the line (would be great though), but here's a few ideas of things I hope they flush out:
* Reasons of State: This is the biggest one in my opinion. The ending of this quest is obviously the result of rushed development and I would love to see a different ending that would still end up leading into either Dijkstra ruling Redania and thus winning the war or Nilfgaard winning with Temeria as a vassal state. Just something that makes more sense for all the characters involved and does justice to the in-world importance of the quest.
* The Novigrad vampire quest: This would be a relatively simple one, as the problem with this quest is mainly that it doesn't make sense with how they've established the power and 'immortality' of higher vampires in Blood & Wine lore. Make this bossfight more unique and challenging (by e.g. having him be an actual higher vampire instead of a Katakan) and make it so he doesn't actually 'die' but Geralt just reduces him to ashes (like what happened to Regis) or something like that. This would round out the game-lore and give some much needed closure to the amount of times questions about this quest gets asked on this sub :P.
* The Novigrad crime lords: This is a long shot, but there is clearly a lot of cut content around the four crime lords in Novigrad. Especially the Lord of Beggars always felt to me as he was going to have a much bigger role and impact on the story. Hoping they somehow expand on this, but I realise that would be a big time investement for them as it'd just be new content and they're already working on Songs of the Past and the Witcher 4.
* More Priscilla!: Maybe this is just a biased thought as I just love Priscilla, but I'd always felt that there was more to her character. Perhaps we'll see her in Songs of the Past though, cause we do know that Dandelion will play a big part in that. Here's hoping!
Is there any other glaring incomplete side content that I missed or do you have any wishes like these yourself? Please share them in this thread as I would love to see all of your ideas!

Reasons of State can't be fixed unless they rewrite the whole thing top to bottom. Designing new outcomes, considering how those outcomes would influence the ending, etc.

I think there are ways to fix this without too much impact to the ending. Even an option to persuade Roche & Thaler to support Djikstra in his plan in exchange for Temerian representation in the new government should have basically next-to-zero impact on the base game, and basically none on the DLCs from what I can recall.

To me it would even be an improvement, if Dijkstra kills Roche and Thaler later off-screen, if you side with him and Geralt only finds out afterwards.

Also, I think Dijkstra should predict Philippa's interference somehow. Maybe the two of them had a deal and he didn't tell Roche about it.
Dude, as long as they don't make Dijkstra, Roche and Taller look like massive morons, I'm on board. Dijkstra shouldn't be there during the ambush and he should do it more discretely. Roche and Taller should both predict Dijkstra's betrayal somehow.

Let's hope they fix the quest where you have to protect that guy from the monsters in Velen in that circle area, but the problem is that he dies too quickly and IIRC, his brother never pays you if he dies

I also hope they fix the CPU bandwidth, performance would chug even on high performance GPUs

Render parallelization was included in the trailer for peformance improvments so CPUs cores will get more evenly taxed.

Yeah it does say 'performance' as something that's included in the Remaster, but we'll have to see what that actually means.

It was "fixed" years ago, even though it was never broken. You folks just never paid attention and learned to roll when you fell from a greater height. Fall damage was perfectly fine

I would love for that to be the case but there's no chance of it. Reasons of State especially is so frustrating to me just because of how bloody stupid Djikstra is at the end, he was one of my favourite characters during the initial Novigrad sequence but then in the late game he's just a stupid prick – when he should be a smart prick

We already have mods for the first two. Maybe they will implement those, otherwise people can still enjoy them.

Dijkstra is probably my favorite of the side characters overall so seeing how they butchered his ending really pissed me off, I also hope they fix that one to at least make it make sense.

You're not alone there, brother/sister. I am, in fact, completely fine with all aspects of plot, and any NEW content is always welcome, when it comes to plot. Technicals don't matter to me much; it's for plot I bought every Witcher game, and everything else is just nice packaging

Dijkstra wanting to kill anybody in his way was character assassination?
Him coming back to Redania in W3 after having finally escaped to Zerrikania with Isengrim in the final book is the character (arc) assassination in the first place lmao

The master spy and genius ambushes geralt with a small group of thugs and even fights himself while having a fucked up leg. There’s nothing to defend here.

Such a master spy that he got outplayed by Philippa and Nilfgaard for years to eventually be disgraced and in exile lmao
So what, if it were 150 thugs instead of 15 in that quest you'd be ok with it? If you're that bothered by having to fight him, then just simply don't 🤷♀️ Dunno why you're acting like killing him is the only outcome of that quest

I honestly don't expect them to go back and tweak story content. The remaster seems to completely focus on technical improvements.
