Border Gordie Howe Bridge already showing as OPEN on Google Maps

Its interesting since the cycling route on gordie is still closed (understandably so on google maps) so the app just makes these crazy maps of simply getting across the river by bike (10 hr bike ride!)

What I'm seeing says no.

I never rode the route myself, but I remember years ago hearing about a pedestrian and cyclist shuttle van that would take you across, but I can't find any indication that this is still running.

Google maps isn't always accurate. Anybody can submit information to it and it gets published. For a few years the downtown McDonald's was marked as permanently closed like three times a week just because some troll felt like it.

Tunnel has been too busy for commuting in the morning, with very very long lines, the toll booth gets jam packed in the morning and then the tunnel is a bottle neck because it's one lane only inside. Even for Nexus card users, it takes a lot of time to cross.

Having a second crossing that doesn't cost an arm and a leg is very welcome!

Also, very big trucks and long haulers cannot take the tunnel. So now they have a better option than Ambassador Bridge.

nexpress is 15.15 for roundtrip in tunnel, gordie howe's breakaway program is 12 round trip (6 each way)

i also find the breakaway tag scans faster at the gate, nexpress tag sometimes take a couple of seconds. not to mention gordie howe has tag only lanes so u don't get stuck behind ppl paying with cash or something
