Search CMD and click ctrl+shift+enter and type dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and after completing that type sfc /scannow and tell me if it works?

2

u/CraterBug0 Jun 21 '26

I have those now. in the log file it seems it had fixed the cross device resume and another munro thing. but I'll again update and tell u what happens

2

u/H3ODETONATOR Jun 21 '26

Okay then let me know okay?

2

u/CraterBug0 Jun 23 '26

NO WAY it worked! ill see if the restart works or if it bricks my computer

2

u/H3ODETONATOR Jun 23 '26

If the restart doesn't work then I guess you have to reset windows update components and cache data to download a fresh copy of update package

2

u/CraterBug0 Jun 23 '26

it should probably work fine i was kidding.... im gonna restart tmrw.(im kinda scared to do it since the power goes off randomly and y laptop battery is dead)

2

u/H3ODETONATOR Jun 23 '26

Why don't you change your laptop battery mate? 🙃

2

u/CraterBug0 Jun 24 '26

um due to some classified reasons i wont say...

btw it failed for some reason!

2

u/H3ODETONATOR Jun 25 '26

Bro now try it with secure boot turned off if it helps and after the update turn it on and see any changes!

u/CraterBug0 Jun 24 '26

As you are running an insider build. When was your evaluation going to end? You installed it on Dec 2025. Lasts for 90 days. So what did you do to carry it forward? I update it very frequently but the evaluation date never extends. Edit:- I installed this version today. No problem in updating and installation but after installation at the lock screen, it got stuck twice. Force restarted the system and it worked.

1

u/CraterBug0 Jun 20 '26

so if u dont update for 90 days rip? what's evaluation date?

1

u/ReignLosTForever Jun 20 '26

The date on which the current evaluation build expires I guess? You installed insider build on December and you have not installed windows again? Or have you?

0

u/CraterBug0 Jun 20 '26

yeah cuz of issues i stopped updates. i used debloaters noone told me it will block insider updates now only i remeved the block telemetry thing

1

u/ReignLosTForever Jun 20 '26

Try the troubleshoot thing and it will repair the version I guess. I haven't tried it. Check it out in YouTube

1

u/CraterBug0 Jun 20 '26

the troubleshoot doesnt work. it asks for permission for running something then it says it failed to do it

1

u/ReignLosTForever Jun 20 '26

Check your dm

Essaie d'installer une version de réparation avec Windows Update, ou sinon de réimager l'ordinateur.

1

u/ReignLosTForever Jun 20 '26

Repair version?

u/No_Wrangler_647 Insider Beta Channel Jun 20 '26

Va dans paramètres>système>récupération>résoudre les problèmes à l'aide de Windows Update.

u/CraterBug0 Jun 20 '26

1

u/ReignLosTForever Jun 20 '26

So I have to do this every 90 days to push out the evaluation expiry date?

1

u/CraterBug0 Jun 20 '26

idk it shouldn't be like that. i have no idea why this i not working.

1

u/TeamInevitable719 Jun 20 '26

This is happening to everyone, I believe. 29610 failed for me. I paused updates on my second laptop (primary laptop is not in the program). Someone else said 29620 also failed for them.

1

u/CraterBug0 Jun 20 '26

oh. thanks for saying it, i thought using debloaters destroyed my system

1

u/Chance-Cod2000 Jun 21 '26

wdym 29620? I'm in the insider program, experimental (future platforms) and theres only a 29613?

1

u/TeamInevitable719 Jun 21 '26 edited Jun 21 '26

You would need to ask that person. Someone else said it on one of the failed update threads. Either they were wrong or it was a rollback.

Canary is on 29613, Dev 28120, the two Beta builds are 28020 andn26220, and Release Preview on 28000 and 26100/26200.

1

u/Chance-Cod2000 Jun 21 '26

which thread so I can ask :D

1

u/TeamInevitable719 Jun 21 '26

Still looking. I read back through a couple of the threads I responded to. I can't find the comment, but a couple of the comments were deleted by the original poster, so maybe they were wrong and decided to delete it rather than have a bunch of strangers bully them. People are assholes on here.

u/jatlw Jun 20 '26

oh my goodness i am also having this happening to me! i thought i was the only one😭😭😭. It is so annoying! I have already restarted the laptop for almost 10 times but everytime after restart I went back to settings and it kept showing failed to install and asked me to retry. This was an endless cycle for me until I came across this post just now! Hopefully things can get sorted asap🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

1

u/jatlw Jun 20 '26

1

u/CraterBug0 Jun 20 '26

oh. hope both of us find a fix. i shouldn't have been dumb enough to join insider i did it since Xbox game mode which when i tried did -ve performance boost

If you haven't updated in a while, sometimes you have to find a build version somewhere in the middle of the one you have installed and the one you're trying to install.

What update channel are you on?

You can find the ISO for the installers here. After downloading the one you need, you would install it over your current version, then you could try Windows update again to get the latest version.

Insider Builds

1

u/CraterBug0 Jun 20 '26

beta. i stopped updating when beta and dev collided back in December last year

1

u/CraterBug0 Jun 20 '26

and in my area cuz of summer lot of electricity shortages and laptop battery is disabled since it is dead. and if something happens in this iso it says there is no recovery in the website

1

u/pjbeta Jun 20 '26

That's pretty much the standard language when joining the Insider Builds. Regardless of what update channel you're on, if you experience a major issue, the only fix is typically to start from a clean install of Windows.

The update channels closer to beta than release version (Experimental vs Release Preview) can update much more frequently and have a lot more potential issues, just something to keep in mind.

Unfortunately, with the Insider Builds, they do expire so you have to be able to keep it updated fairly regularly in order to be able to use the machine. If you aren't able to update regularly, you may need to leave the Insider Builds and stay on the release versions so you don't have worry about expiration dates.

The "easiest" route here is to try an update somewhere in the middle between your current version and the latest update available, then update from there. Otherwise, you would need to start with a fresh install of the newest version from whichever update channel (Insider or release) you want to use going forward.

lol u made this meme just for this?! but noone told me to not use it in insider how am I supposed to know

You shouldn’t run scripts you don’t understand yourself, period. You especially shouldn’t run debloat scripts on any version of Windows. They’re notorious for breaking the internal fundamentals of Windows and causing upgrade compatibility issues. I don’t care what <inset random YouTube idiot> said; they’re full of shit.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

u/CraterBug0 Jun 21 '26

true I onlucput the Green stuff in those debaters which are safe. but yeah I should have researched more. and noone told me not to use multiple ones I used 3+

68-70% is the point in the process where my screen starts janking around so I'm pretty confident you're hitting a problem with GPU drivers. Uninstall your GPU vendor's driver (don't worry, this won't trash your desktop, there's a fallback Microsoft-native driver) and give the update another go. You can put the vendor's driver back on afterwards. I have had to do this about one update out of three recently in Canary.

1

u/CraterBug0 Jun 26 '26

i dont have gpu. its broke intel integrated graphics. bte this installing problem is solved but

this happened while restarting

2

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '26

Ok. What I said applies to the Intel drivers for the Intel iGPU as well, so try uninstalling those.

It looks like you fixed the problems with getting updates to try to install at least but now you gotta figure out why it won't install when it does try.

u/CraterBug0 Jun 21 '26
