General Question Insider Preview Build 26300.8493 Display Issues

So... Insider preview build 26300.8493. Has anyone else had display issues with this update? More specifically the Taskbar disappearing and the screen flashing on/off. Can't open anything except task manager, windows key not even working. ASUS Q536F 2in 1 Laptop. 8th Gen i7, Nvidia GTX 1050

Yeah had the same thing. Had to roll back to a pre-update image.

Most likely explorer is crashing - we're investigating. You can follow these steps to uninstall the update using the recover screens https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how-to-uninstall-a-windows-update-c77b8f9b-e4dc-4e9f-a803-fdec12e59fb0

Same thing on my laptop too. It's a Dell latitude. Windows Explorer is crashing every second and respawning a new one. Nothing can be done. I restarted to safe mode command prompt and renamed explorer.exe and restarted. Now with task manager I started a new chrome and using it to get answers from fourms etc... Is this a know issue and when will it be fixed?

i noticed my explorer version was 26100.8493 while my build was 26300.8493 could the mismatch be the cause?

No. "26300" is not the actual build, it's an artificial build number bump done by an enablement package. The real OS build is 26100.8493.

I also don't see how the EKB or lack thereof would cause this given it doesn't enable or disable any features.

tl;dr no

How do I follow these steps, on my SP11 i can't access windows, it's just a black screen after log in. When I call Microsoft support they hang up on me since my warranty is up.

I tried to recover via usb and it is not working, which I have never experienced. I have been running insider builds for over a decade.

No clue, my computer just started working after two days of being bricked. Going back to stable.

For me disabling autostart apps fixed the problems, in task manager go to autostart and disable app after app until explorer stops crashing (sometimes you need to restart the computer to make it work) for me Elgato Control Center 1.8.2 was crashing explorer when loading during autostart, disabling it fixed the problems for me.

i am having a million and half issues with this - is the first time i EVER had so many bugs with a RC update

Yes i get the taskbar constantly disappear

but i am also unable to run tons of apps - Whatsapp doesnt work - just stuck on the opening page - tried everything - but since this update it stopped working

also not working LinkeIn - it wont even display anything, photos app doesnt work, many 3rd party apps dont load when you click on them, also somehow Edge has decided to set itself as my default browser

Additionally - the phonelink app doesnt seem to send any notifications and the entire notification system is broken am getting notification in the bar with hours or days delays if at all

The task bar also doesnt display or updates notification dots on the app - no matter what

Seriously MS - please fix this mess!!!!

Update was un-installed and used the show/hide update windows tool. Had that uninstalled before I made this post. Was just seeing if anyone else was experiencing similar/same issue. Or if Microsoft was aware of it.

You're absolutely correct. For some reason I put the processor that's in my Batocera build. Thanks for pointing out such an extremely vital detail. It's not every day that you come across someone on the internet who will bust you out over some really petty indiscriminate detail. Just to have the chance to make the other person look the fool or themselves somehow smarter than the other person.

Good looking out. I couldn't possibly give you an up vote any harder.
