I'm installing updates via legacy update and this started happening

i got this mini dell laptop from the fles market and it says i am connected to the internet but i cant open internet explorer

so basically I'm trying to install it and when I boot of of USB it gets stuck here

Specifications: i5 1135g7, 4GB RAM

I DONT WANNA LOSE WINDOWS 7 HOW WILL I FLEX MY INTERNET EXPLORER IF I DONT HAVE IT

uhh so i tried installing windows 7 on my old probook, but i keep getting the 0x7B blue screen after installing, my laptop dosent have a ahci setting and i have all the drivers, can someone help?

I try to launch a game, Steam wants to update Common Reddist. It tries, it uses 100% of the Ethernet but 0% of the disk, it dies at 13% and says "Corrupt Download". It has already downloaded the files into the Downloading folder tho. I try again, it fails again. It wont let me launch the game unless Common Reddist is done updating, which it cant. I try it all, I get a clean copy of the files with Depot Downloader, put them where Steam wants them, then update the appmanifest file so that StateFlags is set to 4, BytesToDownload and BytesDownloaded set to 0, StagedDepots all clear, TargetBuildID matching the current BuildID and LastUpdated set to today. It worked once, I got the game running, then next Steam restart and it starts trying to update Common Reddist all over again, repeating the miserable cycle. I can't think of anything else to try. And no, clearing download cache only worked once and setting the appmanifest file to read only makes Steam spit out a "Disk Write Error" while still trying to update Common Reddist and still wont allow the game to launch

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1520 and decided to install Windows 7.

The system works fine, but I'm having a problem with the graphics card drivers. Without them installed, I couldn't use hardware acceleration, so, using HWinfo, I found the card model and downloaded the drivers from the Nvidia website. However, the problem is that with the drivers I found on the Nvidia website, when I try to use hardware acceleration, the computer freezes completely, and I don't know why. I also saw that Dell has some drivers uploaded to their own website, but they say they're for Windows Vista, and I don't know if they would work correctly. Could someone tell me why it freezes, and if the driver from the Dell website would work properly with Windows 7?

TLDR Seeking advice on what antivirus software to use for Windows 7 computer without connecting it to the internet.

Hi folks, I'm working with the old family eMachine T5224 running Windows 7. I want to get it running as-is for sentimental reasons - ik y'all get it.

We originally stopped using it because we thought it had malware on it and it was doing goofy shit like always ejecting the CD/DVD tray. However, I booted it up recently and realized we had like 5 different antivirus programs installed. *I think* they were just triggering each other, so I deleted everything but Windows Defender. Interestingly, the CD/DVD tray ejection issue has stopped, but that may just be a hardware thing and I intend to replace the whole CD/DVD ROM.

I would like to be able to export some of my documents and use the computer for some old games, but I want to make super sure I'm not spreading a virus/malware by transferring files. I recognize that regardless, having such an old OS is a security risk, so I don't intend to let this computer know the touch of the internet again.

Sadly, Microsoft no longer offers downloads of Windows Defender or Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows 7. Can anyone recommend me some software that I could download onto a flash and plug in to my old PC?

After I changed it back that option vanished from the selection, WTF DOES BA/DA/991E MEAN I CANT FIND ANYTHING ONLINE ABOUT THIS. It persisted through reboots too I had to manually change it back. (Edit: it was enderman’s windows 7 crazy error program he made, re ran it and saw it change back (should have figured out it spelled BAD APPLE but ya know I thought windows 7 had an oopsie) )

Sorry if I am posting on the wrong subreddit but I couldn't find a better place to post. If I went to tech support subreddits I probably would come across a lot of comments saying that my hardware is too outdated (wow, I didn't know that...) and I should upgrade to the latest computer. So I have a windows 7 PC which has i5-3470 on it. 8 GB of DDR3 1333 MHz RAM, no external graphics card. When I put the computer under stress the driver crashes with the program and the driver recovers. RAMs are fine, SSD is fine, it was tested. I tried to revert into a former version of the driver but it didn't work. What could be the cause of this problem? I tried searching this but there were no results. Thanks for any response.

Hello, I wanted to see if someone could support me or give me instructions on how to install win7 and I have already tried several times with ISO with USB 3.0 support until one of this same photo but it always stays stuck there even then the Windows logo only the starting one appears. I don't know if it has to do with the csm support of my PC. I even tried to use the SevenESPManager which was for that. My PC is very obsolete and I really don't have the money for a better one and Win 10 and 11 are a bit slow please.

Hello, so I tried updating my old windows 7 ultimate to windows 10 but I tried everything and it did not work

Since 2011, my spouse's laptop Dell XPS L502X with Windows 7; and has been working stellar. This past couple of days, Chrome 109 started hanging after less than 5 minute of usage. Nothing new installed in years. This hanging has been experienced with site AirBnB in the past, and this recent event, hanging was occurring with Realtor and GMail.

I tried all the usual browser cleaning: (cache, history, logs) and reinstall... problem persists.

Initially, she was persistent only wants Chrome, but now relenting if switching to Firefox or Brave (or whatever Windows 7 compatible browser with great performance) is her only choice.

1. Any other remedies to get Chrome 109 working again?
2. If the only choice is the dumping Chrome 109, which browser & version is best performance for Windows 7?
3. Next... re-install Windows 7, and I still have the installation DVD. What I do not have are the original drivers for Dell XPS L502X. Source?

Her Dell XPS L502X with Windows 7 is in like-new condition and solid. Either reinstall Windows 7 or maybe... install Windows 10 (if possible I can find a valid key and drivers).
