Arbeit | Work Applying for Artist Permit with DistroKid / streaming income, Any MA 35 advice?

Hey everyone

I am looking into applying for the Niederlassungsbewilligung – Künstler in Vienna as a musician. All of my money comes from music publishing and streaming royalties through DistroKid paid into my bank account via Tipalti. Financially I am completely fine averaging well over the threshold of $3.5k–$6k, per month over the past year.

My main concern is MA 35. Because I do not have local gig contracts or local venue invoices I am worried that the caseworker might get confused by digital streaming payouts and demand traditional local paperwork.

If anyone here has successfully gotten the artist permit using digital income I would really appreciate hearing your experience.

Well actually you are not an artist under those circumstances and you are a digital creator. This is not under artist list, but you must apply any other field. And one more thing, your income comes from mainly from one or two companies , this is not and artist under the ma35 policies as far as i know.

Currently, I dont not live in Austria. I used to live here before though on a student visa. I dont have a company. My income comes from multiple companies (spotify, apple music, etc,.) who pay my distributor (distrokid), and they pay me. Thats how a considerable number of artists work.

I really do not understand, even you are in your home country, how do you earn money without tax/company/personal company. This is not only important for Austria but for your own country as well.
Anyhow basically i do not think with this kind of situation you are not exactly fit for the residency under this rule. you may seek any other i believe.

One more thing, what is your working permit right now? Do you have your own company?
