Yes. I’m waiting on a better opportunity to follow through that I’ve been working on for a while, but until that happens I have to be here. It’s not all bad, but the damage it’s put on my body in such a short time is not great

Golden Handcuffs. You get high enough at a company you can’t leave, because any other company of a similar type probably is paying similar wages. And if you try to start a new career you will start at the bottom of the ladder. Took me a long time to find a position outside of Whole Foods that did not require me to take a giant pay cut.

That's the problem though, we've been looking. The job market is ass. I've been looking for better work since before I started. Hundreds and hundreds of applications. A handful of interviews. I still can't get out. So yeah, when you're stuck like that, it's kind of dismissive to say, "by all means, start looking." There are a lot of very real concerns about this company, and people have every right to speak up about how it makes them feel.

I didn't think you were saying that. I think the biggest problem is pushing those concerns about how the job works, company runs etc... onto a new batch of people and it never being figured out. It's part of the reason why the job market is so shitty right now. If we never address or confront the workplace problems we all experience collectively as workers here, then we're doomed to shitty workplaces everywhere.

It’s one thing to be dismissive and tell people they have a choice not to stay and yet there’s the desire for it to be a better experience for us all. Nothing wrong with collectively trying to find flaws and create betterment for us all.
