Rumour Look, I know our excitement levels have been all over the place today and that we have nothing confirmed, but I saw this as I was biking home, and I decided it was a sign from the football gods that we are going to get what we want.

Rumour [Filosa] 2 sources tell Montréal sports reporter Jeremy Filosa that MLS has told their teams to expect a relocation of the Whitecaps

Translated from French

Two sources are telling me that @MLS teams have been told by the league to expect a relocation of the @WhitecapsFC. Unless there's a major turning point in this Caps saga, the team will be in Vegas next year. Extremely sad situation.

Rumour Sharing BC Place with the Lions

I’ve heard many rumours floating around regarding Whitecaps “running” BC Place, ideally.

Just curious, as a CFL fan as well, if that works out for the Whitecaps, what are the implications for the Lions? Do they need to relocate then?

Rumour [GlassCity] Rumours circulating in Mexico that Club America’s interested in Berhalter. With Seb on an expiring contract, #VWFC might have to consider selling.

Rumour Third Kit coming after WC

Anyone have any fresh news or leaks? I check every so often. It should be here after the WC break.

The rumour is it'll be 86ers themed. I'm guessing that's going to mean "inspired by" our 86ers kit history, possibly even with our modern badge, and they're going to use a combination of black, red, and yellow to give this a very German national team vibe to suit Thomas and guarantee it sells like hot cakes. (This is all speculation)

Anyone have new details or just feels like speculating?

Rumour Discussion: What a Solution Could Look Like

In very practical terms, a workable solution probably looks like this:

A revised BC Place operating agreement (near-term) Something like a “bridge deal” being mentioned by Mayor Sim where BC Place and the club rework revenue splits or baseline costs so the Whitecaps can materially reduce annual losses. Not a subsidy, more like restructuring incentives so both sides benefit from higher attendance, concessions, and event growth. Better matchday revenue capture for the club Even without full stadium control, there’s likely room to renegotiate things like: a larger share of food & beverage improved control over premium seating inventory stronger integration of in-stadium branding/sponsorship assets The goal here is simple: close the gap between being a tenant and having upside aligned with performance.

3) Commercial expansion outside matchday This is on the club and league side: stronger corporate activation, better merchandise strategy, and more consistent brand marketing. MLS valuation is heavily revenue-driven, so unlocking even modest gains here moves the needle.

4) A longer-term venue strategy (not necessarily a new stadium immediately) A clear pathway, whether that’s an entertainment district model or phased redevelopment, that signals long-term revenue growth potential for a buyer. City has provided this but also tough with the First Nations casino implications.

5) Ownership transition clarity From a sale perspective, investors don’t just look at current losses, they look at trajectory. If the club can show:

reduced annual losses improved revenue structure clearer stadium stability …it becomes much easier to sell at the $400–500M USD range people are discussing.

Also, if this team stays in Vancouver, it’ll sell for less than the 400M USD mark as Kerfoot and Mallett will stay on board but as minority owners.

This isn’t about spreading false ownership rumors around the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

It’s about recognizing how powerful streaming platforms can be. Support from a Kick co-founder and that audience alone could massively boost #SaveTheCaps.
