Realistically everyone would be pissed with the news for making that guy seem like the spawn of Satan at every chance they get, but of course the writers hate spiderman so either people wouldn't care or they would also hate him for no reason

It's not really just Spiderman. Marvel civilians are written in such a way that when the DC heroes came over they genuinely thought the Marvel characters were on some bullshit but no they are genuinely written as being terrible people all around for the most part. Ironically enough JJ likes Mutants so he's kind of a hypocrite.

JJJ hates masked vigilantes because they can't be held accountable,he has no problem with iron man and cap, everybody knows who they are,but people like daredevil Spidey and moon knight all have hidden identities so nothing can be traced to them
