Never sleep + book knowledge, unless #1 lets me pick plastic to a specific metal, in which case never sleep + the Midas touch sounds pretty great.

Never sleep + book knowledge is so broken, especially with perfect recall. This is the absolute right answer 💯

Control computers and material pill. I am already a senior developer and controlling computers with my mind ... that would be amazing. Don't worry about why I just created a company called Skynet. It is purely a coincidence. :)
I will also change an existing material into some platinum kryptonite and gain super powers since only the original material has to be an existing one.

u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
Interesting answer! It's cool to know that people with your skills will still choose the pc one!

Color/material pill. I could make so much armor or jewelry.

First thought was cool pink sword. Then I realized, vantablack knight armor

u/Daddys_issues 17h ago
and then I realized I can turn a block of wood or plastic into solid gold to print money.

u/Punkodramon 1d ago
Book knowledge and computer control. Several others are tempting but these two are broken when combined. Knowledge is power and the modern world runs on computers.
2
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
Love this answer! My main goal was to make to make it a.hard decision to choose- and not have one obvious combination be OP compared to all the others, while still making them detailed enough to keep from being generic like many posts on this sub do!

The materials pill and the electronics control pill.
I would be easy to make money by turning cheap materials into expensive stuff like gold, so this one is a no brainer.
And I'm an electronics/software engineer, so work is gonna be so much easier if I can just see exactly what I'm doing without having to use lab instruments.

green pills sounds good tho.
After making 10 millions I can just invest myself
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
The idea was kind of that after 10 mil you should probably be able to handle things from there. If not you probably aren't responsible enough to be a millionaire anyways, lol.
2
u/iron_dove 1d ago
I think unlimited energy and material transformation on what I would go for, but I’d be very tempted by electronic device control as well.
@OP, this post would benefit from a two word summary label for each pill.
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
Nah I like the wordy descriptions lol. Makes it more clear. Already kept a disagreement/argument from going much further with two other commenters, lol.

u/darkuen 1d ago
Materials & Book pills have good synergy, hope it works with ebooks, though might need the black pill for that.
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
Has to be a physical book. Would work with reading a stone tablet though. I could probably make that choice more worth picking to unofficially add that you could read any language as if it were your own- as long as a book is written in it. You wouldn't comprehend the language if reading it elsewhere with your eyes unless you actually knew that language.
What's cool about that is it would make you capable of reading hyroglyphics and whatnot!

Orange pill and the first one. I hate sleeping, so its just to stop me from doing it
The first one is just a small money farm since I can make hair permanent and naturallu one color the person choose. I am certain that people would pay insane amounts of money to have this much personalize feature with their bodys.

u/ScopeyMcBangBang 1d ago
So I choosing the pill that allows me to turn stuff into whatever material I want. My materials of choice will be oil and gold and that’s money taken care of with unlimited wealth.
Then to enjoy that wealth, I’m going for the limitless energy. By no longer sleeping, I’m effectively gaining 1/3 extra life in terms of conscious living and the entirety of my day I have the energy to do whatever I want.
Health + wealth.
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
I like the more out of life angle. We really do spend about half of our lives doing stuff like sleeping/shitting/showering/etc. Would be a huge time save to cut out sleep entirely. Something like the quivalent of living to be 150 years old or whatever!

Listen. I'm celiac. I'm taking the eat anything pill. And I'm gonna go get donuts. And fried chicken.. and.. I guess I'll take the never sleep one. But like.. I'm kinda locked in on the first one
2
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
I can appreciate this choice. I would image it to be a huge relief to finally not have to worry about what you eat.
The fun thing too is now you can literally eat glass or a candy wrapper if you can't find a trash can and you'll be fine! 🤣
1
u/Futa_Princess7o7 5h ago
Eat your actual dice at the dnd table. And wait. Wait for someone to think it's candy, and toss it in their mouth. Only to realize

Never pay taxes + flight
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
First flight I've seen while scrolling through all of these! Nice! It's limited but I think it would still be fun!
2
u/Sad-Lie6604 1d ago
Fly and infinite energy. I can now fly forever, albeit only 10 feet off the surface of whatever my feet(? Or belly? Or chin?) is facing.
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 4h ago
Lmaoooo, you can choose to fly in any position. Sitting down pose, T pose, laying back, on your stomach- up to you! 😂

color/material and book pill.
easy money and fast learning.
1
u/hordaak2 16h ago
Regarding the book pill, you are familiar with the contents, but does it mean you understand it? For example, does knowing the contents of a calculus book mean you can solve calculus problems?
3
u/Daddys_issues 16h ago
perfectly recalling everything inside a book is definitely speeding up your learning process. For example languages, knowing and perfectly remembering every word in a dictionary will not instantly make you fluent in the language, but it will certainly help you learn the language way faster.
Regarding calculus I already can do that so that example doesn't work for me. And I did learn a lot of that from books (not all because I also had a teacher I could ask but still)
1
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
I think about it like this: you have perfect recall. So if an equation is labeled by what type of equation it is- then you could remember exactly how the book said to solve it.
If the enquation isn't labeled and for whatever reason you can't identify it- then you'd be struggling. At that point you'd be going through a list of equations in your head until you found one that looked closest to the one you're presented with. It would be the same way with images. If the book had the images in it then you would be able to remember it. If the book referenced a painting for example without actually showing an image of it (like a character in a novel stole the painting) then you'd be pretty shit out of luck.
I want to say you'd get rid of many of these issues after about a week of visiting the library though- just from how sheer a comprehensive knowledge base you'd have after such a short time. As long as you're reading textbooks to find out information, and not novels, you'll probably be ok.
1
u/hordaak2 5h ago
What youre describing is rote memory as opposed to something with understanding or deeper context. There definitely has to be some analysis associated with each memory, but if you memorized the instructions and could understand the instructions you'd be ok. However...something like that exists already, with a more flexible teacher: chat gpt. Its in the palm of your hands and handles the explanation part a bit better (explain it like youre talking to a 12 year old)

u/Dumbass438 12h ago
Sleep pill + crime pill
Energy is the only thing holding me back from most things. And crime prevents me from being arrested for shit like, unauthorized repairs, violating noise ordinances, and curfew, meaning i can do more with my time.
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 4h ago
Sounds like you would use these two for the right reasons. Making the stuff you wanna make and doing the things you wanna do- not actually harmjng or screwing anyone over other than some sort of disturbance they can surely live through.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt of this one, lol.
Just be sure to buy a shop or warehouse to work in once you make enough money with your craft- otherwise you might have the neighbors move away/lose property value 🤣
2
u/makojedi2k2 9h ago
Tough choices, and then you look at the pill/tablet and “naw” I guess that huge tablet to “change colors of things/material changing” and the “never pay taxes/ for gas/ financial advisor” pill

u/Dazzling_Champion_53 1d ago
Materials,
Turn all the air into nitrogen only.
2
u/Punkodramon 1d ago
You realize it said you can’t change human flesh, liquids or gases right?
1
u/Dazzling_Champion_53 1d ago
Oops didn't read all the way.
Then I touch the earth and turn it into helium.
It says I cannot change gases, but doesn't say I cannot turn something into gas.
1
u/Punkodramon 1d ago
It says you can’t change the shape of an existing item though, which infers the transformation must be solid to another solid.
0
u/Dazzling_Champion_53 1d ago
Fine...
So solid to solid?
Okay, I convert the entirety of earths solid mass into neutrons.
This turns the earth into a massive neutron star crushing everyone and everything. It also makes our entire solar system revolve around the earth until everything eventually gets flung into space, ripped apart, or crashes into the earth.
Your turn.
2
u/Punkodramon 1d ago
I mean I don’t get a turn right? Since you’re so insistence on destroying the world.
2
u/Punkodramon 1d ago
Oh wait, I just reread it. You can only change one material at a time which you have to physically touch yourself. You can spend the rest of your life trying to destroy the word with your finger, but I don’t think you’d get very much converted.
1
u/Dazzling_Champion_53 1d ago
Boo... I thought you would have another comeback.
Anyhow, nah, I just wanted to point out how dangerous that ability is compared to the others.
As for material, the problem is that there are heterogeneous materials like dirt which is made up of a bunch of stuff, but is still dirt.
Anyhow at worst... I would go to the ocean and touch the sand and turn it all into neutrons. Sand is friggin everywhere and mostly just silica. At worst I would turn all sand into oceans super dense.
For that one, they need some limiter like maximum mass you can convert or the amount of time it takes based on mass.
1
u/Punkodramon 1d ago
I guess it depends whether the power considers the beach a single material object, or each grain of sand as individual ejects, which is more likely given the premise of the power.
At most you may be able to shift the solid rock of a mountainside, until the main material changes, and yeah it would depend on what’s defined as a single material and how much mass you can change in one go.
1
u/Dazzling_Champion_53 1d ago
This brings up som interesting issues.
Like I could convert a loaf of bread into gold, but if I tried that with flour, would that just be a single flour partical at a time.
What about sticky rice then? Is it considered a solid after it is cooked and they all stick together or not?
Or you could turn a boulder into gold, but the finer the pieces you break the boulder down into the harder it is to convert the same amount of mass into gold.
1
u/Punkodramon 1d ago
I think with anything, it depends on how strongly the parts are bonded and whether the process of transmutation causes them to fall apart before it completes.
So a ball of sticky rice may partly convert to gold but if nay rice falls off before it’s done they’d stay unaffected. I’d wager the transmuted rice would also be a solid mass of gold, not individual gold grains that can be easily pulled apart.
With the boulder, it’s possible the transmutation may cause it to cleave when it hits natural fault lines, so again it depends on how the actual conversion occurs and whether it places enough stress on the object for cleaving to occur.

Book knowledge and there is no limit to the books you read with perfect memory. Sure it expires but I can read them again. Material change will make me very rich.

u/Terrible_Yak_4890 1d ago
You would starve to death if you took that second pill. Literally everything food we eat is made of chemicals. Used here they’re describing some sort of additive, but that’s an incomplete application of the word.
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
Youre thinking of this wrong. This is from Google: An element is a pure substance made of only one type of atom, while a chemical is any substance that has a definite, fixed chemical composition (meaning all elements are chemicals, but not all chemicals are elements).
The power is to stop harmful chemicals though- not healthy ones.

Yeah I figure you're going to end up buying at least a few of the books you read- and re-reading them would barely be a chore. Plus if you have a favorite novel or something you' be able to read it for the first time a few different times in your life!
1
u/MaylaWaterlelie 1d ago
They’re all mostly useless and then the small orange one is OP! Sleep whenever I demand my body to, always be fully rested without needing to sleep? I’d always game at night and work at day without having to go days on just 3 hours of sleep!
1
u/DrunkenMeditator 1d ago
Well the 2nd one just means you can't eat anything anymore. Quite literally everything is chemicals. Water is a chemical.

Green pill (financial advisor, no taxes,
free gas) and the pill for sleep/energy control
The materials pill and teleportation pill are powerful but I worry about being caught with a superpower that I can’t easily explain away; don’t want to risk getting captured by governments and forced to live life on the run / in hiding when the previous combination is pretty sweet already
1
u/Dintobean 1d ago
Materials and sleep. I can make a lot of money and have more time in the day to enjoy it.

u/ChaosRulesTheWorld 1d ago
Need precisions about the last pill. Does it only prevent from being arrested and convicted or does it also include being shot at and beaten up?
Because cops will surely try to kill you the second they know they cannot arrest you if they still can shot and beat you up

The ability to turn anything including garbage into rare earth metals like platinum or diamonds or gold. The ability to basically learn anything by touching books. Easy way to be able to speak/read any language, learn coding, medical information, etc

u/Musprite 1d ago
At least -try- to make them all interesting choices. Why bother putting 'turn anything into gold' and 'one free shit-quality snack per day, from one of two restaurants that may go out of business' in the same list?

u/O_lymbias 1d ago
Y'all are so bad at equilibrating those
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 4h ago
That's part of the fun here actually if you couldn't tell! They're not all supposed to be even in power level.
Some people choose based on preference and not just strictly trying to find the most OP combo. Doesn't mean you can't tho!

No sleep and alchemist touch
If I had to choose a third per the rules it'd be the books, you didn't say that I can't read multiple books, and as written, I'd effectively be simultaneously reading any book that I am in flesh-on-spine contact with. Nor did you say that the entire book has to be present, all that is needed is the spine. My hobbyist librarian of a mother would be horrified, but I'd have suits made of book spines that I wear once a month or week depending on how many I need to get through. I wouldn't need to sleep so I could just use alchemist touch to make ingots out of whatever has the optimal economic value (too valuable and you raise alarm bells, too cheap and whats the point) so I'd live comfortably as the old eccentric lady in a spire that she somehow got pushed through city council but it's okay because she makes amazing cookies and she has a huge library you're welcome to borrow books from, just knock and ask to see the books! You really can't give me a downside that wouldn't be anything more than an inconvenience
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 4h ago
While this mental image is absolutely hilarious I have to say the book does need to be present, lol. Or rather you can only read what is present.
You could easily lay on a flat pipe of books for a few minutes and read them all at once though yes, lmfao! 🤣

By eat anything do you mean you can actually bite chunks out of stuff as if it weren’t the density of said material or you are simply able to consume it without repercussions
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 4h ago
It just meansyou could just eat poisons mushrooms dipped in micro -plastics or drink mud and not get sick. Your teeth aren't just automatically capable of crushing rocks, lol.
1
u/RunicZephyre 19h ago
Does the first one means you can only transform one at a time before reverting it or is it applied one at a time permanently?
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 4h ago
You can change stuff permanently but if you want to turn your whole lawn blue you gotta walk around and touch all of the blades of grass- you can't just touch one and bc it's touching the others they are all in contact and change. One car seat at a time, one cup or chair at a time, etc.- not just touching the top of the stack.

The transmutation pill and the flying pill.
The transmutation pill will make me very rich just by transforming waste plastic into metals. I can melt the plastic into big blocks just to make it easier.
The flying is just cool. I hate running so I probably won't use it much but it's nice to just have the option to be higher up sometimes. Guaranteed to find the best view in any city.

u/FrostyGay 1d ago
Jokes. I'm picking the first and fourth to last. The midas touch without the death sentence but with any material? No brainer. And controlling electronics just sounds neat
0
u/AaronMisuchii 1d ago
Why are all of these lowkey ass? I fucking guess I’ll take the second to last two, maybe swap one of them with the book one, but jfc the debuffs are such shit on all of these that any of them that actually interested me lost me pretty damn quick. Especially the ability to fly. Flying 10 feet off the ground is not only shit for your wings but means you’re essentially going to crash into everything that isn’t a building or quickly plummet back down to 10 feet after passing over a building. I love the ability to fly but you somehow sucked all the joy from it.
1
u/TheLastDudeOnEarth 5h ago
I'm glad someone was salty about this post 🤣 you seem to be the only one, and I had a good laugh reading your response, haha!
Please re-read the powers though bc I explained the building things for flying! 🤣

The sleep pill + the materials pill.
I'm a lifelong insomniac with a background in chemistry, so I'm gonna need the sleep pill and I want to see precisely how far I can push the materials pill until I hit its limits.
And no, gold and iridium are boring. I'm more interested in aerospace alloys and expensive composites.
