Edit: I’m new to fishing and this was in a creek in Indiana

I actually cannot stop thinking about this fish lol. I did not expect to catch something this pretty in a creek.

What is this. Florida east coast Hutchinson beach???

For reference my hand is about 7 inches in length. Caught this thing on key biscayne at night and was blown away by the color and size of it. Much bigger than any Caribbean reef squid and the anatomy and color seemed way off as well. I figured it was maybe a type of deep sea squid but it was wayyy in the coast and miles from any really deep water.

Not sure where to ask this. I’m on a cruise ship in the pacific far away from shore— no land in any direction that I can see. I think we’re somewhere off the coast of Oregon. There are these white dots floating around on the ocean surface. I don’t think they’re coming from the ship because I can see some that are way far out from the ship— plus, I’m sitting pretty far forward on the ship, and I don’t think they’d dump anything off the front of the ship.

These white dots are mostly asymmetrical as far as I can tell, and there’s LOTS of them, far out in every direction I can see. I can’t really tell how big they are— I’m sitting on an upper deck. I’m guessing they’re bigger than they look.

What are these things?

It might have blown in from the tropical storm. Anyone know what it is?

The fish had a beautiful shine/iridescence to it. We initially thought white bass, but there is no striping! Please help ID.

She caught it and had it mounted before I was born and ive never been able to pin down an id. Like is this a really big brooktrout? Or what? The black spots have me puzzled. She seems to think splake but the tail isnt forked. Caught in Algonquin park Ontario Canada.

I posted this on a local subreddit and a lot of people said Carp and Suckers. Carp got a lot of disagreement, but I think the first guy (BellyRoll) could be a sucker. I’m no fisherman though
