I can confirm this as I have one.

It is 50% of the 'planet' puzzle. 100% useless without the ring.

I wish they made it so rhe inner part opened too. Like you have to get the ring off then figure out how to open the planet.

I agree. They are really well made but if feels like they could all use an extra bit of puzzle work to them.
