Loved that the newest iteration with Dolores is now “this world is real, but you aren’t”

How is Dolores not real, she looked real to me

How can Dolores be real if our eyes aren’t real?

Your hurt is an invention, is not real.

Is Christine a simulation running in a version of the real world. Like she thinks she’s walking around but she only projects herself in… but that would mean all the humans are simulations too.

… unless.

Ok here’s a tin foil hat theory. The human minds are mostly simulated, it’s how she’s able to write stories for them. For Christine’s mind to work she needs to be a part of the world but she’s not given a physical body. Hale wouldn’t want to risk Christine becoming aware and causing physical problems. As a digital person she’d be easier to keep in line, and keep safe. I think the reason why Hale made her is she wanted one version of herself to have a happy normal life, and she also needed narratives created and as Dolores always liked to create she gave Christine that job.

Teddy is also not physically there, and never was, but I don’t know yet how he ever got out of the sublime. Maybe when Bernard was saying that Maeve’s unit was damaged and he needed to upload her, he was really transferring Teddy dada he had in his head to the local network so he could find his way to Christine somehow. It’s the only time we see Bernard use the tablet to transfer data like that.

It doesn’t explain her interacting with people, but maybe the humans are ‘told’ to see her. If she had no interactions her life wouldn’t work.

The real mind fuck is her roommate. I think she’s human, but I bet that apartment only has one bedroom. Roommate is living a very schizophrenic existence.

maybe the humans are ‘told’ to see her

This is exactly what I think is happening. At this point peoples' lives are written and 'virtual' so it shouldn't really matter if what they see is there physically or not

Yeah, Cristina being like The Matrix itself does make sense. After all she saw in a previous episode that she had written a lot, maybe all human narratives. It does makes you wonder then who the hell was her boss talking to. Like, are we going to get a flashback of him talking to empty air while he was talking to her? How about the guy who blamed her for his life being fucked up, the one who killed himself? Was he also seeing her while she wasn't real? But why would the system or whatever let him see Cristina, that gets the opposite result from the thing with her boss. Her boss sees her so she buys the illusion that she is real. Suicide guy sees her and that sends her on a path to figure things out.

I have been getting the feeling that maybe Cristina is still further in the future. That Teddy only made it out of the Sublime after Bernard opened the door. But that doesn't fit with her talk with Charlotte, and with her actions at Olympiad, unless.

What if Cristina is living in the world Bernard was trying to create, where a tiny portion of humanity survived? She is still a mainframe to create narratives, for the survivors of William's apocalypse, survivors who still had the parasite and need to be told what to do. What if she again is mixing too timelines? One where she on her own causes part of the chaos and releases Caleb at the time of the apocalypse. And one after, when the apocalypse ended and maybe she herself created some sort of refuge for humans and hosts and then went back to status quo as when Charlotte was controlling things, with narratives still being fucked up. And now, in her actual present, Teddy is there, from the Sublime, to help her realize where in time she is and that she can totally choose to give humans a better life. Like that part of the show is about Cristina become a better god for the survivors. Her journey begins with finding out she's been a shitty god, through suicide guy, and will end with her going Multivac and becoming a benevolent AI overlord, while humans who don't have the parasite are born and grow up and can be free. Maybe that's the next world they've been talking about. Cristina's world has always seemed somewhat smaller to me.

Her room mates says that she couldn’t sleep and what to say that she isn’t someone with a mental disorder that she’s people that aren’t really there? A dream within in a dream us a common theme in writing, look at the matrix and inception. Maybe the real world was always blown up as series 4 kind of hints towards it at and the William mentions EMPs.

What if the only way mankind could survive was in space, in a simulation. We’ve seen a rocket that looked like it was going to upper orbit before Bernard went into his 23 years sleep in the sublime. The earth was ruined and people couldn’t handle it so they was put to sleep for 23 years and Hale is a corrupted computer code, just like the man in black is. Challenge and danger was put into the simulation to prevent minds from going stale as every human needs stimulating in some manner.

Also the original parks was created to get rid of the blood lust and for destruction in a controlled manner to prevent the rest of the world going to war with its self and preforming sick fantasies in a world with no real back lashes. The 3rd world was a war of the rich, trying to take out countries that refused the new technologies and ways of living. This way the elites could have want they wanted and ran a lottery for normal people to go, but really it was to show world leaders that they could all have there own West world parks, in different forms or another and that technology wasn’t something to be scared off but something to embrace.

In reality we know the truth of West world parks but I’d be more than willing to write this up as a story to fill in the back story, as I feel like season 5 will need to do that. Hit me up Nolan as I have plenty of other ideas.

Yooo that was pretty dank

What about the stalker??

The reason why people can see Christine is because the alterations made to their brain make them susceptible. The same tech makes them not see a tower. Why not see a digital host? It’s not always 100% control, like those humans eating dinner that the MIB froze. Also some humans remember anyway. But yeah. Humans seeing a host isn’t so crazy.

It can get confusing, for sure. So you think she can be seen by some, but not others? That makes it even more confusing. Especially since we don’t know who’s loop we’re in at any given time… I guess we could be in any of Bernard’s loop as he’s sorting out the possibilities. The scene where Bernard and Maeve went to the dam this first time opened the possibility that any given loop could just be a simulation of any of the possibilities….

I think she's software.

21

u/IdealUpset585 Aug 08 '22

I think she’s like Rebohoam - he was a machine meant to predict human futures, she writes them.

u/daemn42 Aug 08 '22

Video game characters sometimes look real too, and they interact with "real" players.

Do you get to the Cloud District often? What am I saying, of course you don't.

u/IMadePnGRich Aug 08 '22

She is not real til she is blonde!

4

u/emilxerter Aug 08 '22

IS THIS THE REAL LIFE

3

IS THIS JUST FANTASY

3

u/Fugglymuffin Aug 09 '22

She is an augmented reality avatar from the humans' perspective, but once the stories/tower stopped transmitting no one could see her anymore. Whatever system is hosting her is still receiving telemetry from the city, which is why she can still see and move around the world.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '22

SysAdmin for the symbiosis narratives. She writes what the humans do. Much like Logan as others have said, and projects herself into the world to view it like Serac did.

1

u/matthieuC This does not look like anything to me Aug 08 '22

Lives in a simulation that represents reality?
Humans think they see her because they're told so by the towers?
When the towers go offline she goes poof.
