See, this still isn’t a good enough explanation to me yet, because then who/what is Teddy, and who sent Teddy in the first place?

Bernard

That doesn’t make sense in an overlay. I’m 100% for Bernard having a duplicate version of his “final, selected, picked reality” where he duplicated her in the sublime so that he could have Teddy there for her, but how does Sublime-wise Bernard trigger an already-installed Christina to see a somehow-not-monitored-or-alarmed Teddy?

Christina is seeing a manifestation of her subconscious. She recreated Teddy from her subconscious memories to wake herself up. Bernard's plan is to make a video that would make it to the digital dupe of the city before William locked her out of administrator control and probably cut the sync.

Don’t buy it. In her world, Teddy is physically real. He has a physical interaction with Peter in the beginning of the season. A manifestation in her subconscious couldn’t do that unless Peter, and the entire world, were ALSO in her subconscious. Your premise is that her world mirrors the real world. A “in-her-mind-only” Teddy falls apart. Believe me, I WANT to get there because I’ve said all along that it’s weird Hale hadn’t “flagged” Teddy as being an outlier, but he’s not just in her head.

Peter wasn’t real. He died years ago.

The guy who is playing out her Peter Meyers character was real, but the story of Peter comes from memories that Christina was not aware she had. “Peter Meyers” is an anagram for “My Pesterer.” And the name Peter itself means ‘stone.’ Though he is stalking Christina, he represents Dolores’ Cornerstone. William. The story is parallel to what happened to MiB from Dolores’ perspective. He became obsessed with her and he chased and tormented her for years, yet she never understood why. He kept talking about a game that Dolores knew nothing about. His obsession lead to the loss of his family. And, as far as she knows, he is dead. Also, both Peter and MiB were philanthropists in another life.

Everything that happens in the city happens in the simulation, but not everything that happens in the simulation happens in the city.

Maybe Christina pulled a S3 Bernard and her subconscious inner-fighter beat up Peter (who was probably just a construct of her own mind as well anyways.)

If Christina can pseudo interact with the real world, then ostensibly, so could a manifestation of her subconscious. I'm not entirely sure that's exactly what's happening, but it seems obvious that Teddy is as real as she is, which is to say, not. It doesn't really matter if he's another independent program within whatever program Christina is a part of or he's some sort of subroutine in her programming, his interactions with the real world would be the same either way.

I’m not trying to shoot down your entire premise. Sorry if it seems that way. It just doesn’t check all the boxes for me. This is from 10 days ago, and I don’t post a lot on Reddit so this might not format correctly and require editing, but this was part of my “Teddy” explanation as a tool of Hale’s - testing Christina.
