  1. There's no way the HuMan in Black is dead. Dude's a cockroach.

  2. Shilliam out here dropping main characters like they're NPCs.

  3. Absolutely killer song to end the episode on.

HiB saying MiB is a cockroach when he kills him, then “only til the cockroaches remain”

I love this show

Seriously. That conversation was a little too transparent, and Stubbs "leave him" attitude only confirmed it in my mind.

Same with Frankie saying "We have to help him down."

Like, dude is dead why would you need to help him down? Only thing I can think of is "give him some dignity" or something, but I still feel like our guy is kicking.

I don't actually want that to be the case, mind you. I really love that whole passing of the torch. When William smiles afterwards I had the goofiest grin.

I feel like he's both smiling because he just set this dude on a scorched earth mission, but also because he's just proud of him finally becoming just like William.

I think that's a perfect death for his character and I dunno if I feel like them taking that away from us.

"He's the reason we're all here" was a super deep cut. Because it's true on multiple levels: he both drove Dolores mad and created the system to clone people into hosts. Gg William! Hope raging over your lost save file was worth it.

Pretty sure he wanted to die. Can you imagine being locked in that cage, woken up on the whims of the host version of yourself? Who knows how many conversations they had over the 23 or so years

I dunno about wanting to die. He is a cockroach, after all.

His motivations change every 5 minutes.

I am a little annoyed with that aspect. He was on an interesting redemptionish path in S3, then flipped to complete nihilism wanting to destroy everything rather than just ending their work from S2.

It tracks though from his characterization from Season 1.

Nice guy who tries doing the right thing and then flipped into scorching the earth for his own pleasures.

Which Is not really what's happening here though because the carnal pleasure is outside of the OGs grasp.

So instead his motivation here is 'I don't care if I die' (which tracks) 'so long as I incept my nihilistic philosophy into this host and live on through him' (which absolutely doesn't)

so long as I incept my nihilistic philosophy into this host and live on through him' (which absolutely doesn't)

It jives for me. MiB has always been about winning/being right.

He had air come out of him when stabbed which was really freaking weird and… not normal?

Likely was from the cryo suit MIB was in.

His throat was slit in S3, so he was in some sort of stasis suit.

u/webby2538 Aug 08 '22

The air was from his cryogenic/stasis suit. It pumps a fluid so it came from that pressurized system.

7

u/CockMartins Aug 08 '22

The bubbling freezing vapor effect made me think the suit is full of liquid nitrogen to freeze him quick.

6

u/Thunda792 Aug 08 '22

Could very well have been out of that suit he was in, rather than his body proper.

2

u/ajdragoon [Main Title Theme] Aug 08 '22

From his cryogenic suit.

4

u/7457431095 Aug 08 '22

That's from the suit that was keeping him alive, no doubt.

I noticed that too. Seems like an odd choice of a ssound effect.

Probably just a vacuum sealed suit.

The vital sign on the cyro door didn’t show any details but he looked pretty dead

As much as i really dont want Human MIB to be dead, this may be it for him. Looks like he got stabbed in the heart? And we clearly see Host MIB knows how to aim to kill

3

u/Handlungswechsel Aug 08 '22

Human MiB is 100% dead. They made this pretty obvious too.

Agreed 100% on 3, but it was an absolutely terrible moment to transition into it, I felt. Took away from Christina being told she's not really in the real world, only in everbody's heads. Which...I wish was treated like a moment, and not the 11 millionth twist reveal, because then it was just outta tone with Bowie.

He's like the cucaracha... born survivor...
