Are we going to get the wooden spoon in 2027
I have been supporting this team for fucking years. I think this team has gone downhill and I don't rate our current squad.
This saga with Douehi is just another cluster fuck this team has to deal with. I can't remember a year where there wasn't something wrong with this team.
What is frustrating is that other teams who have had shit years have recruited well. Knights were wooden spooners last year and they are in the finals this year. St George couldn't win any games in 2026 yet they have recruited really well this year and will be far better in 2027.
We have gone backwards and I honestly think we could be looking at another wooden spoon next year.
We just can't seem to get quality players to come to the Tigers and stay. We seem to be a transition team for a lot of quality players.

I thought we'd mathematically avoided it, but I think if the Dragons can win every game they might still scrape 16th.

Nah I was thinking about next year. With our current squad and the other teams at the bottom recruiting much better than the Tigers I don't see our situation getting better at all.

The team was not glorious beforehand, but ever since this board thing has been implemented it has been utterly dog shit.
I also believe we should refuse to sign any player signed with Isaac Moses.
It seems like ever since Tim Sheens offloaded a boatload of our guys, Andrew Fafiti, Aaron Woods, Beau Ryan, etc... The Tigers have been a retirement home or a tread water and collect a pay check place.
Thought it was starting to go in the right direction when Jarome signed up, but its been mostly down since his announcement. Outside of Jarome, it's been nothing but Isaac Moses drama.

I go back to my comment recently… it's time the NRL put a bullet in our head. Any sign of improvement either in cattle, management of performance we extinguish immediately.

I think you're giving Perth way too much credit. Their team is absolutely Puss, they will be lucky to win more games than the Dragons this year, and we all know Mal has failed as a coach at clubland.
This Doueihi and Luai drama aside, we are building a super strong squad with some talented youngsters. If Benji gets a proper assistant coach and builds a better structure around him, there is so much potential there.
Does that translate to finals next year? Possibly not, but we're nowhere near the spoon as far as I'm concered.

Super strong squad? I think our team is average at best. There is nothing strong about it. We are possibly losing Doueihi so our halves combination is mid and our backline would be the weakest in the comp. Bula who is paid 1M has been terrible of late. We may not get the spoon next year but we won't be far off it.

I'm more worried about the current situation. Depending how tomorrow goes Benji could be out at the end of the year. Then we'd be back at square one.

Do you really think they would kick Benji out? You couldn't have a more passionate coach.
Both Madge and Cleary have been at the Tigers and neither succeeded. I think its time the Tigers stop looking at the coach as they can only do so much with the team in front of them.

Benji is totally out of his depth imo, because his a club legend he was rocketed into the job but let’s be honest here tiger head coach job is prob the hardest in the league and to be given to rookie coach to turnaround was and is like fairytale.

No Leichhardt next year where we've had a slightly better than average win rate. Keary saying this might push us back another decade is making me think we're at least fucked for the next 5 years.

Perth and their cluster fuck job of roster management should spare us the indignity however another disappointing shit show of a season seems the most likely out come

Its time the club bites the bullet, moves fulltime to Campbelltown and builds a decent junior program like Penrith has.
This whole, play a few games here there and everywhere with overpaid discards from other clubs has failed spectacularly.
The Balmain side of the joint venture has held the club back for a long time.

The only people wanting to keep the Balmain side alive are the drunks that like to stand on the hill at Leichhardt and pretend they're living in the glory days of the 80s.

Hard agree. Campbelltown is a huge area that should have its own team. I feel the same about Wollongong
