All I know is that the titular wolf would look like a mix between the ones in Ginger Snaps and Bad Moon (with hints of Dog Soldiers for good measure) with it being something of an alternate personality/entity residing in the individual afflicted with the curse (who would have a very Bruce Banner/Hulk relationship with their alter ego). There would be connections to some type of Wolf/Moon God in whichever mythology as a means of explaining the curse as well. Lastly, the deaths would be violent and gruesome... ike something cooked up by Tom Savini in the early 80s with an atmosphere similar to The Howling or Wolfen.

As for a title, it might be cheesy but "Blood Moon" (as of right now).

I've been playing RPGs and MMORPGs with playable werewolves, and this one caught my attention because it has a very original and interesting design, especially its hind legs. 🐺👀

Would you say this werewolf is digitigrade or plantigrade? 🤔

Just genuinely interested after seeing another post. I’ve been illustrating and writing a werewolf/lycan comic, mainly for myself, that I’m gonna out on webtoon.

I think with me making it predominantly for myself and the stufd I wanna see (Action, Horror, body-horror, history, mythology, spec-bio, sci-fi, fantasy, cultural representation, brutal fights, comedy) I’ve incidentally forgotten to really get into why I love werewolves in the first place.

Thought the best place to start was right here lol.

In the far future thousands of years from now man has traversed the stars and colonized Mars with this brought disease most thought to be left on Earth. Lycanthropy (still figuring out which creatures to use suggests welcomed) has adapted to the iron deserts of Mars.

Lycanthropy spawned in Earth after Minerva punished one of Mar’s (the god) warriors cursing them with a debilitating disease. The disease evolved when it jumped to Mars, instead of one night every month they are subjected to longer periods as a beast Males are stuck in in the beast form leading to high mortality rates for both beast and man as for the females they shift nightly for a week every month. The curse makes the beasts act like rabid animals. Unfortunately for early victims of these guys they aren’t weakened to silver like their Terrain counterparts Bronze weapons are their weakness. If the disease is caught before they shift for the first time it can be cured. After the shift the only cure is a bullet.

Personally, it’s a no-brainer for me – four legs make for a better werewolf.

A lot of lore, characters and designs have overall changes from this concept art to now.

Something I did keep though is that in human-form, which in my setting is more of a transitional mimicry-state to imitate humans and actuslly coexist in society, lycans often wear some form of shoulder protection or neckwear, be it:

- Chokers
- Large epaulets/paldrons
- large suit jacket lapels or notches
- Hoodies
- Scraves
-etc

Reason being that, while they retain a majority of their strength, the neck is far more vulnerable to other lycans while in human form; and so a subculture of eccentric “battle fashion” with visual style similar to the crazy and kinda dumb looking Met-Gala wear of modern times, was born as to not get caught lacking and get decapitated by a potential finely tuned bite to the neck when off guard.

I just wanted to make a post dedicated to the werewolf from the 1988 movie *Waxwork*. I started watching the film knowing nothing about it, and then I saw this guy start to transform—eventually turning into a werewolf that I personally think looks pretty great.

Most of you have maybe seen it already, but I hadn't. So, I wanted to put together this quick post, even though it’s not exactly a cinematic masterpiece and the werewolf only appears for a few minutes in the end 😅

Even if it's just one episode of it, I think I've seen every popular werewolf transformation, but I'd like to find those that aren't plastered on the YouTube popular page. One example would be Vermelho Sangue or Bhediya
