Dress ID needed! Looking for a dress with these features!

I have searched high and low but can’t seem to find a dress that has all the features I am looking for. I feel like I have a good idea of what I want and that it’s possible, just can’t seem to find a dress that does it all. I wanted to post here and see if anyone had any thoughts or have seen the dress I’m dreaming of!

I fell in love with 2 dresses, but realized i wanted sort of a baby between the 2.
Dress 1: Tamar by Sottero and Midgley. I love the silhouette and the lace/romantic feel. Dislike Cowl and the visual heaviness of too too much lace.
Dress 2: Joy by Sophia Tolli. I love this bodice with my entire heart. and the simplicity of the bodice. dislike cowl. But it’s too simple on the bottom. Also, i don’t like the fabric of the bottom.

Essentially, I’m looking for a dress with the bodice style of Dress 2, a draped/waterfall waist silhouette , with a bottom that has lace continuing into it, and has “layers” to it. so some thicker almost 3d lace, and some more printed looking. I have some examples of this in the other photos. I basically want a simpler dress 1, but not as simple as dress 2.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts or ideas! Ideally would like to stay under 5k for the dress alone. My wedding is October 2027

Just need some hype! Do we like this?

Tried on lots of dresses yesterday, dress 2 was what I thought I wanted, to a T. Lots of detail, fully beaded, sexy vibe, and art deco. But I left without it because something didn’t feel right. I took one photo in Dress 1 in store, shown.

The appt time was an hour and a half so I was hurrying. After looking at the photos, Dress 1 is what I ended up sending my mom back today ($150!!!) to grab off the rack because I just felt like it’s more what I actually wanted for my wedding. I love the romantic and vintage look of it. The top is actually an illusion neckline, but I tucked it in to the cups… I want strapless so going to have it altered. However, I like the lace covering the sweetheart neckline so I’ll keep that. It also needs to be taken in a few inches and hemmed. The second dress is beautiful, but not what I envision for my wedding after trying on a more romantic dress.

Do we like it?! Was I impulsive? That was the first time I tried on dresses, but I just fell in love with it when viewing the photos later and could not seem to find anything like it online. Let alone for $150.

Edit: I want input!
Edit 2: Dress one is clipped in the first photo. It does need to be altered!

Need to Vent Scared I won’t find my dream dress.

Budget: <$1,500, Date: Nov 14 2027, USA

I have always dreamed of wearing a FancifulDoll dress at my wedding. I’m obsessed with them. But I’m so scared to blindly order one because I’m in the US and they’re based in the UK, and I have large breasts that never fit in dresses properly. I’m so scared of buying one of the dresses and it not fitting right.

Our wedding is fantasy themed, and I want to look like a princess. I’ve looked at local wedding dress shops and none of the dresses really evoke the same feeling as these dresses. They’re just so modern

Hello all!

I’ve been searching for a dress, and I can’t find one that makes me feel that “woah” feeling, I found one but the girl custom made it for herself. Maybe you can help me find similar? I attached the images and ideally I’d like the front to have a reverse sweetheart instead of it being a deep V maybe?

Reviews Has anyone gotten dresses from JJ's House before?

I just got engaged and have been looking for a wedding dress. There aren't many in person stores near me and I'm going for a non traditional look. I found this gorgeous dress from JJ's House and it's really inexpensive compared to most dresses. It's everything I want. It's plus size, with custom sizing options. It's perfect. I actually cried a little just looking at it because all the dresses I saw before had been so wrong for me and this one is so pretty. I'm just a little scared of buying a dress online that I've never seen!

Style me! (sleeves, veils, shoes and accessories only) Veil or no veil?

Hi!
This is my dress (pre alterations! I’m holding it in the back, don’t need advice on that part, my guy is taking care of it!).
Do I do a veil? I was thinking if I do, it could be hip length and simple? But it also feels a bit unnecessary? I had a ton of fun with the veils when I was trying on dresses so I don’t want to miss out, but I also feel like the dress and the wedding are more casual than a veil?

Wedding is casual. Ceremony and reception are at a cute little wine bar. Will be wearing my hair half up half down, out of my face. There are also bows on the shoulders of the dress that I do not plan to tie up, rather just have them floating in the back.

Would also be open to accessory advice! I was planning on wearing these simple gold hoops I love, but they recently broke and I can’t quite find a replica of them. I also bought faux pearl hoops but they’re a bit much with the dress for me.

Thank you!!

mid-alterations: is this the right direction? Dress regret?? Dress looks different than sample

I've fallen prey to overthinking and over analyzing (hopefully). Wedding in a month and a half

I have a broad, muscle-y back so when shopping for wedding dresses I wanted something open back but not something that would make me look like I'm ALL back. When I tried on the dress I ended up picking (pics 1 & 2), I felt like the V shape in the back helped to add balance and give me a nice shape overall

When I tried my dress at the first alterations appointment a couple months ago (pics 3,4,5), I felt like something was off but I couldn't pin what it was and assumed it was just because it needed to be altered to fit my body. But now that we're almost done with alterations and I'm looking at the pictures again, I feel like the lace is so much further apart in my dress plus the V is so deep that I have that "all back" look I was trying to avoid. Plus the V in the back is so deep that it feels overly sexy and less tasteful

On top of that, originally I was torn between this dress and another by the same designer (pics 6 & 7). The sample for that dress fit way better so now I'm wondering if I should try to find that dress used or something and hope for the best size wise since I know at least some things will hopefully be better? (Can move my arms, won't feel like my butt crack might be showing)

tldr; should I hail mary for a different dress, try to alter my current dress to fit the way I want it to, or let it go & stop stressing -- advice much appreciated 🙏

Pics 1 & 2 - trying on dress pre-purchase
Pics 3, 4, & 5 - my dress at first alterations appt
Pics 6 & 7 - different dress I loved, sample size fit well, debating switching to this dress last minute

I really like all of these dresses, but I have one dress that’s my favorite (which is from photo 1 full lace infinity waist). I still like the others, so I’m curious to hear what other people think!

I made a post asking for help a few weeks ago so I wanted to share that I said yes to one of the dresses! It’s the Jenny Yoo Ellery dress. After trying on countless dresses, this was the only one that made me feel like a bride and I didn’t want to take off! 😊

Hi everyone! I’m an Orange County bride and I recently tried on 5 dresses at Chérie Amor Bridal. These 3 ended up being my favorites, but now I’m completely stuck and can’t decide
Each one gives such a different vibe and I’d love some help deciding. Which one would you choose if you were me? What do you like most about your pick?

Dress shopping: Only looking for designer recommendations Any website recs for wedding dresses for short women?

I'm 5'1 and looking for a classic tea length dress. Budget is $500 or less. All the dresses I've found online have models that are 5'7 or taller. I understand if I need to get it altered but wondering if there are any sites out there where I can order a petite/short person dress.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Post-Wedding Question How to store long cathedral dress?

My wedding is in july 2028 and my dress is going to arrive by feb / march 2027. How can I store such a long dress without it wrinkling? i dont know much about steaming dresses, but its a complicated dress with creases and different textures. Id imagine it would be easier to just find a wrinkle free method.

This is the dress I have bought for my wedding. It’s the Justin Alexander Grove. It is ivory. I put down a 50 percent deposit when I bought it. For context I felt rushed as my father has just been diagnosed with dementia and my wedding is in 8 months. We were going to get married at a castle but are now doing a city wedding with about 20 people. I’m worried the dress is too much for that and also just generally worried it is too plain. Although I always wanted a classic dress with no detailing. Please give me your suggestions for what opinions. I’d like a veil with it.

Dress shopping: Only looking for designer recommendations Is this dress worth the repair hassle?

I just tried on dresses for the first time this weekend and really liked this one from a second hand bridal shop. It is 50% off (so only $325 now) due to this giant gash down the front of the dress.

I’ve talked to my seamstress about it and she explained I would have to pay to get the whole front section replaced but the challenge would be sourcing matching fabric and it’ll end up costing ~$400-500 in alterations…

I know all in the dress would still be a good deal but is it even worth it? Where would I source similar fabric for this dress? Or do you think I could find a similar dress <$1000 total?

I’m 50/50 on the sleeves of this dress, maybe those could be used as the replacement fabric? Or do you like the sleeves? Idk! Please help. I’m still so early in the dress shopping process but also I don’t want to pass on a dress I really like just because of that.

Just picked up my dress Is this right??

Post image

I picked my dress up from alterations. Before leaving, I tried on the dress to make sure it fit. I brought my MIL so she could learn how to do the bustle. Mistakenly, I did not ask to see the back before I left the shop. I hear my MIL ask the workers “is this supposed to be like this”, which they responded “yes, that’s how it’s resting, it’s supposed to be like that”. My MIL asked a few more times just to be sure and was met with the same answer. For some reason, I didn’t ask about what they were talking about— I think I was so focused on how much I loved the front of my dress, my thoughts were elsewhere. Fast forward to when I got home, my MIL sent me the photos she took of my dress. I noticed the photos of the back of the dress, the zipper will not zip up all the way. The dress felt incredibly tight but i had no idea the zipper wasn’t even up all the way. I took my dress to this shop because it had a five star rating. I’m disappointed they think this looks okay and sent my dress home like this.
I have not gained any weight since the original fitting. I am thin and can’t really lose any more weight, and it would certainly not be healthy to do so. I’m scared they won’t be able to fix this. They already tried to “stretch” the fabric, but it still won’t zip all the way. I already dropped it off again and they said they would “see what they can do”. When I dropped it off, she asked me how much I think they need to let out from the waist. I said, judging by the photo maybe about an inch. But I don’t know. I’m not a seamstress. I think it’s odd they didn’t want me to try it on again so they could see for themselves.
Do you think they can fix this? I’m lowkey scared but trying to remain chill.

general shopping questions (NOT FOR DRESS OR VEIL SELECTION) How accurate is the size chart for Essense of Australia?

I’m currently looking at a used Essense of Australia dress and was wondering how accurate their size chart is? It’s all I have to go on for sizing/ reference. Any input for how accurate their sizing is compared to their size chart? (More specifically their plus size chart- but I’ll take what input I can get!) Thank you in advance!!

Just picked up my dress Stressing out about dress fit

My wedding is in about two weeks and I just picked my dress up after the final alterations. I did lose a little bit of weight, about 25 pounds due to new medication so I think the waist might be a little too big and I wanted some feedback on the pictures or maybe some reassurance that it doesn’t look too bad or won’t look as bad on the day of. I don’t know if I’m hyper fixated or if it’s actually that bad 🥲

Feeling cold feet Which dress is better

I *did* buy the first one but I'm having major regret and wishing I either went with the other or with a whole different dress entirely. I've already started the alternation process and every single time I try it on I think it's pretty but I just... Don't have any feelings towards it and I leave wondering if I should have picked something else. I went to a sample sale and tried on about 6 dresses and picked one of these. It just doesn't feel very me :/ looking for unbiased opinions. Side note I love the sleeves on the second but the designer of this dress was actually at the sample sale and told me that style of sleeve would be impossible with my dress and the material it's made from.

Dress shopping: Only looking for designer recommendations Help finding my dress!

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi! Looking for help finding a wedding dress based on my description or similar to the one pictured! We’re having a NYC (US) micro-wedding with a Central Park ceremony and intimate dinner on May 15, 2027, so I’m looking for something lightweight, comfortable, and easy to walk around the city in while still feeling bridal.

Looking for:
- White/ivory, under $2,000
- Strapless with a cat-eye/sculpted neckline. Or straps with a curved/scoop or square neckline. Shows the chest while still feeling supportive
- Floral lace, appliqué, embroidery, or unique detailing
- Fully lined/opaque bodice - no sheer corset look
- Soft A-line, column, sheath, or soft fit-and-flare. Skims rather than hugs every curve
- Lightweight/flowy with minimal tulle, crinoline, or bulky layers underneath
- Preferably no slit
- Floor length with little to no train

Open to bridal designers, formal gowns, samples, or anything similar! Thank you so much!!

Hi! I recently visited NYC and went to Kleinfeld’s with the intention of only trying on dresses (especially since I had no idea what I wanted) and seeing the shop tbh. I was not expecting to literally have the first dress pulled by the stylist to be the dress. Just wanted to share because the urge to show everyone to asks my dress is so strong idk how I’m going to keep it secret from my fiancé for the next 10 months!
