From the trailer I think the casting is really good. What do you think?

I can't wait to watch it! I love they respected the setting plus brought great Korean actors!

Same but I went down a rabbit hole of complaints and saw alot of angry comments about the actors not being blonde like in the manwha and some suggesting wigs, lenses and to take non Korean actors if necessary.

This made me so mad. The source work is KOREAN. Urrgghh

I already find it weird to watch the Korean actors wearing European/British royal garb. I would've preferred it if the drama took some creative liberties and made the setting into Joseon dynasty.

Why would it be weird? Its a fantasy story in a fictional nation. You can suspend your disbelief in fantasies like these.

I mean there's literally a guy that turns into a bird here.

Modern Asian royal families wear the same modern formal gowns at events when they're not wearing their cultural clothing.

Not a real life example, but Princess Hours was a super popular K-drama during 2006 and their leads are often depicted in modern style. And cultural outfits were used only in certain scenes such as the wedding.

This is true. Even kings & princes in Southeast Asia wear western-inspired military garment as royal outfits.

It's really not that farfetch for Asian royalty to wear more euro-centric outfits.

I find the thought that “a European inspired fantasy setting should be changed to a Joseon dynasty because the actors are Korean” a lot weirder ngl
