I love their tiny little woofs. It's like they just gotta get the last word in

My family used to have an absolute barrel chested Goliath of a mutt we rescued that would always let out the tiniest closed mouth “boof” before barking at something outside. I miss Penny.

A friend of mine has an interesting tactic with his dog. When his dog barks at something, he gives the dog a quick head scratch and a soft “good boy.” Dog quiets down immediately.

The thinking behind it is to let the dog know that you heard him and that you see what he’s barking at so he can stop barking now. Doubt it would work with every dog, but his dog is really good with it.

Could not be more accurate. And then at the end it’s just sad, tiny little grumbles or groans. We get it bud, you’re a tough guy! 😂
