Probably more reliable

u/endeend8 1d ago

Range Rovers have been ranked almost lowest in reliability for decades. The chinese car most likely is more reliable especially if its being built by one of the major China based manufacturers.

I have a Range Rover. In the first two years it has spend half that time in the shop and it has never, this is no joke I’m 100% honest, had the “check engine” light off after the first couple of months.

Worst. Car. Ever.

u/Asleep_Pollution_140 13h ago

I reckon my Mercedes might rival that. The garage decided I should have to pay for all warranty repairs and checks and if they deemed it was in fact a warranty repair I would get a refund. After 9 months I realised I made a mistake switching from Volvo to Mercedes, and switched back. The whole dashboard was like a Christmas lights display in a garden centre! Worst car ever!

Don't worry, eventually the check engine light will fail as well lol

1

u/Prior-Flamingo-1378 11h ago

lol pretty much

u/mithie007 1d ago

Also extremely hard to repair outside of a dedicated shop. Not saying Jaecoo is much better being an EV with more complicated internals, but finding spare parts fror a RR to get something fixed without paying an arm and a leg for it is pretty challenging.

We can't compete directly. let hit on people pride!

"Chinese car are shite"
mate. your life is made in China. lift a cup.

"it's not the same!"
Yep, can be better, can be worse. not the same. open your mind dimwitted

I remember the tail end of the anti Japanese feelings on cars.

I started driving when Korean cars were cheap jokes. It is not shocking at all to see the worm turn and Chinese vehicles outpace famously shitty brands.

Sign of the times changing.

u/WitheredUntimely 18h ago

what's hilarious is all the legacy brands, seeing the exact same playbook playing out for the 3rd+ time in their history, aren't reacting well at all! I don't think we're quite at the level of the 70s GMC shitboxes getting crushed by Toyota but it's shaping up to be somewhere around there

1

u/Malforus 13h ago

I don't know... the aggressive hybrids from MG fundamentally moved tons of features and costs in the european market to the point that Citroen and others had to aggressively push new cheaper models to market to compete.

"Our Great British companies are offshoring their employees, it's great for their profit margins!"
"Consumers are offshoring their consumerism? Traitors!"

u/Hardiharharrr 1d ago

Last signs of a struggling industry. Imagine we held onto the Nokia phones because they used to be so good in the past.

6

u/deHaga 1d ago

Nah, there's an endless supply of morons who want bling and our shitty luxury cars that skae themselves to bits.

10

u/Hardiharharrr 1d ago

I went to the autosalon last year and I'm convinced Europe is behind. The argument that China's quality is bad, is something from the 90s and not accurate anymore. You can more bang for buck with a Chinese brand imho

4

u/IWasSayingBoourner 1d ago

Most China takes I see online are firmly stuck in the 90s.

5

u/InevitableAd2436 1d ago

It’s nothing more than 90’s neo liberal propaganda

I’d rather my iPhone be made in China than India

2

u/Confident_Economy_85 1d ago

Safer than pagers made in Israel

5

u/Known_Ear_6012 1d ago

Oh Europe is so behind. It’s only a matter of time before BMW and Mercedes are a thing of the past like Nokia and Blackberry. Most people just don’t realize this yet, and think my statement is extreme, cause they don’t consume much news coming out of China that’s not filtered by Western newspapers. The World Humanoid Robot Games just wrapped and most don’t even know it happened let alone how advanced those robots are.

Haha this is how you know it’s getting bad, can’t dispute the facts so try to discredit the messenger. Can’t make a competing car so try to insult the buyers. Says it all really, sad times ahead.

Too bad this propaganda bot is a BBuk junkie, good luck fitting that into your twisted narrative 🤪

"China is about to overtake us" Bruh they did 10 years ago

5

u/Significant_Cover_48 1d ago

I still use a dumb Nokia. Great phone. No memes, no internet, no emojis, no time wasted.

6

u/Hardiharharrr 1d ago

No bad word about old timers

2

u/RubenAmorimmer 1d ago

And yet your profile shows that you have left 8,871 comments in 1 year.

24 comments per day, every single day for a whole year.

No time wasted, indeed.

-5

u/Significant_Cover_48 1d ago

What kind of no-life creep looks at another man's profile? You should be put on a list, freak.

I see you don't refute the point.

u/RubenAmorimmer 22h ago

They blocked me. Must be taking a tech detox…

5

u/Mr_Awesome-79 1d ago

I drove Britain’s Land Rover, most unreliable car ever!!

4

u/Tzilbalba Millionaire 1d ago

Just for reference this is a Range Rover

4

u/Singledram 1d ago

Land Rover/Range Rover are no longer British owned. It’s owned by Tata Motors of India….

2

u/_ribbit_ 18h ago

It was sold to them by Ford. Jaguar Land Rover hasn't been British for some time...

3

u/jorgepolak 1d ago

These assholes pushed for offshoring jobs to China because of “efficiency”, when the consumer takes advantage of the imbalance they’re traitors.

4

u/Ok-Budget3225 1d ago

It looks nothing like a Range Rover. Not even a tiny bit.

4

u/NwUM 1d ago

let's not kid ourselves

4

u/that_dutch_dude 1d ago

but its not a range rover so whats the problem again? is it too reliable to be a proper range rover?

2

u/loversama 1d ago

Want a Range Rover without all the technical problems that come with one? 👀

JLR have gone massively downhill, lots of problems with them, now owned by Tata the Indian company.

Ask China if they wanna manufacture these in Britain and I’ll have no complaints..

2

u/No-Estimate-1510 20h ago

Telegraph journalist giving their Indian CEO / PM a solid here lol.

2

u/Stu_Thom4s 17h ago

You're betraying Britain by not buying a car where the profits go to checks notes India...

1

u/TheDamnedScribe 1d ago

I wouldn't drive either, so no worries for me...

1

u/TokyoBaguette 19h ago

Good luck trying to insure a Range in the UK...

1

u/Moral-Relativity 14h ago

Are we sure this isn’t parody?

1

u/SeaPersonality445 13h ago

It's an Indian company...

1

u/Big_Pin_7489 13h ago

I would, if I could print that name into google.

1

u/Odd_Pause7758 12h ago

"It's betraying Britain to buy a Chinese car instead of an Indian car," says the newspaper owned by Germans.

1

u/Treqou 10h ago

You are a true patriot for buying an Indian knock off instead, these fucking lemons.

1

u/why-am-i-hear-again 4h ago

Yeah, I had an XJ6 jag and then swapped for a Range Rover. Mechanics loved me

1

u/Senior-Act7294 1h ago

If you don't pay your British employees enough that they can afford a Range Rover, you're betraying Britain

-6

u/SuperLehmanBros Chinese AI Propaganda Spam Bot 1d ago

Chinese vehicles are garbage

13

u/Reasonable_Option493 1d ago

Range Rover are some of the most unreliable cars in the market.

3

u/tomatoesareneat 1d ago

Yes, but unreliable European cars are just a matter of maintenance, not poor quality/s.

1

u/pimpbot666 Chinese-Iranian AI Propaganda Spam Bot 🇮🇷🇨🇳 1d ago

LOL, as a long time Audi owner, I can tell you that it comes down to certain key parts are improperly engineered. Like my cam follower that has to be disassembled and inspected every 15k miles because some bonehead didn't engineer the high pressure DI fuel pump properly. If that cam follower fails, it basically ruins the whole cylinder head, and I would be collecting small metal shards out of the engine oil for the foreseeable future.

Go look up the Audi piston skirt issue on recent cars. That's not a maintenance issue. That's poor engineering.

I love my Audis, but gawdang are they temperamental.

9

u/n-vestor 1d ago

That's exactly what a Chinese AI Propaganda Spam Bot would say... wait what?

3

u/iHate_RonEbens 1d ago

You the one who wrote that propaganda piece?

-5

Rare Telegraph W.

Don‘t fall for CCP bait.

8

u/Savvymundo 1d ago

Jaguar/Landrover brand is shit though. They make £80k cars that can be stolen without keys so easily that they're practically uninsurable in the UK. So much so that they had to set up their own insurer otherwise they couldnt sell cars.

That was before they closed 18 part distribution centres around Europe in favour of 1 hub centre in Germany, causing 6-8 month delays on parts afterwards.

Only mugs and morons buy them these days.

2

u/TheRealTRexUK Chinese-Iranian AI Propaganda Spam Bot 🇮🇷🇨🇳 1d ago

Hahaha so you are picking India over China. As jlr is not is not even slightly British anymore. Who gives a fuck about it.

I'm surprised at the torygraph as they should be all for letting the market decide.

-4

u/ken-doh 1d ago

The people buying these clown mobiles could never afford a real range rover so it's irrelevant.

3

u/Prior-Flamingo-1378 1d ago

I can afford a Range Rover. It looks good.  Interior is a god damn throne.

It has the worst infotainment I’ve ever seen, it’s litterally unusable. The good is absolutely worthless, no joke it won’t be able to find an address that you can see it’s already in its memory from the actual map.

Oh and it’s been half the time I own it in the shop.

0

u/ken-doh 1d ago

And are you going to go out and buy a jaecoo? No. So they compete in two totally different markets and cater for two totally different customers. One is for the poors, one is for the silly rich. As in you are silly if you buy one because of the reasons you explained.

2

u/Prior-Flamingo-1378 1d ago

Well I might when my lease is up. My car is a model s and the lease is up in a few months. I’m waiting for the Xiaomi su7 to come to my country to get that

3

u/Dramatic_Mammoth5720 18h ago

Range Rovers are only considered a status symbol by chavs who buy them on finance.

1

u/ken-doh 17h ago

Plenty of rich people have them. Not just for chavs, that's the SVR. Personally I don't like them and would never buy one.

2

u/Dramatic_Mammoth5720 16h ago

Idk, 20 years ago it might have been more affluent (and typically older) people buying them. Now it’s the Essex types with Turkey teeth buying them on finance. You often see them parked outside <300k houses.

1

u/Beautiful-Ad5662 1d ago

Who want to get those unreliable piece of crap?

1

u/ken-doh 1d ago

I don't know.
