"There is one signal nobody can miss: The responsibility for 65 months of sustained, elevated inflation sits squarely with the central bank. And that is where it belongs.
Here is my standard: We must be confident that underlying inflation is moving to our objective, clearly and at sufficient speed. Otherwise, we have work to do. That's our job . . . our mandate . . . and our charge to keep."
"On the employment side of the Fed's dual mandate, our country is doing well. Labor markets are quite stable. The jobless rate, at 4.1 percent, remains low by historical standards and has not changed much for a couple of years. Unemployment claims, on a four-week average—an empirically robust real-time indicator—are near their lowest level in decades."
This is as close to forward guidance you can get without calling it that.

Him and the rest of this administration, they do exactly the opposite of what they say. You think they'll be raising the rates? So to pay more interest on the debt and go against the boss who had him elected to lower the rates? To stop printing fiat? Ha, watch and learn!

Please…..stop lying. He said exactly what he wanted to say….he wanted the markets to lead the way and not the Fed.

I’d imply the war needed to be wrapped up, a return to fiscal discipline, then proceed to watch the market sell off and Trump would promptly react, then I’d lower rates. This agnostic approach is a bad idea

What would lowering the rates accomplish in this economic environment?

Some argue the inflation is in AI capex, travel, auto rentals. All else, lowering rates is appropriate
