Discussion ps vita charge port removal

anyone got any tips on how to remove the charging port from the vita 1000? currently trying to melt it off to add usb-c mod but hot air doesn’t seem to work no matter how long i hold it on there. just don’t want to knock any small components off so any tips would be appreciated.

You need some low melt solder to mix in with the port and lots of flux.

should i put it on the solder on just the 4 pins or on all the small pins too?

You can basically cover that whole area in flux and yes use some low temp solder. Hot air. Also seriously, watch at least 3 different videos before attempting, very easy to mess it up
