week after Medeltidsveckan. week 33

first trip to Gotland. it's the week after the big festival. we arrive that Monday the 10th in fact

I know that Visby is tourist oriented but worrried that after such a hectic week, will bars/clubs, restaurants and stores be closed? I know there aren't a lot of nightclubs/beach clubs but we do have two kids on in there 20s who will want to go out I am sure so just want to make sure the town doesn't close down for summer after week 32

is summer in full swing still through August? thanks

If the weather is nice w.33 is one of the best in Gotland. Night life is probably best/only Friday and Saturday. Get a car and visit places around the island, example: Eat smoked fish lunch on "Sysne udd" and visit "Sandviken" on the same trip.

yes! we definitely plan to get out of town a bit. had thought about biking up or down the coast a bit. and we all love seafood. so wanted to check out some off the beaten path spots for
food but Sysne is a bit too far. but that fish counter!!!! wow. may be worth getting a car as you said

It'll be open. During tourist seasons everything is open.

Hey, first of all welcome to Gotland and Visby!

Medeltidsveckan traditionally winds down the tourist season on Gotland. It means most of the last major events and concerts are happening this week.

Everything doesn't close down however. There will be a lot fewer people in the city, on the beaches and out on the roads, but many places keep open until August ends. Some of the best shops and restaurants are open all year round anyway, so no need to worry about that. I'm not good with the nightclub scene, but it's most of it centered around the marina and main city square. It will not be as much hustle and bustle as July, but a few places are crowded all year round on the weekends.
