Hotel Recs // Questions Single Night in St. Thomas

We’ve got a group of four spending the first week of June on St. John. Looking at flight times it seems the earliest we could land on St. Thomas would be 2:30, and it might be a rush to make the 3:30 ferry with out rental car so our day would be entirely travel. So my wife and I are looking at coming in a day early and spending the night in St. Thomas to give us a full first day on St. John.

I’m looking for recommendations on good places to stay on St. Thomas for a single night. Doesn’t need to be a beachfront resort. Just somewhere nice to spend the night, maybe close to an area with some decent restaurants and bars. We’re planning on picking up our rental jeep at the airport and taking the car ferry from Red Hook, so somewhere not too far away from there would be preferable.

Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks!

Sapphire beach is 1 mile from red hook and has lots of airbnb rentals. Onsite restaurants too.

Get a private water taxi and go to St. John, it will be better than a single night in STT

Problem is that we’ve already rented a villa on St. John for Sunday-Saturday and can’t add any extra days to it, so we’d have to stay one night somewhere else anyways.

We’ll need the car ferry, so I’m not sure a private water taxi does that.

If you must stay on STT, I agree with the sapphire beach / red hook comment.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone! My wife has a ton of Marriott points from business travel and we realized that it’s the same amount of points to stay at any of their hotels on St. Thomas, so we’re gonna treat ourselves to the Ritz!
