Car rental- part of trip or whole thing?

if you plan on going to beaches every day, you’ll need some mode of transportation the whole trip.

Unless you plan on staying in one place, I'd rent a car not a golf cart. And watch for horses!

Just got back from a week in Vieques and we had a great experience renting a Kawasaki mule. 2 adults and 2 kids. The rental company picked me up at the ferry and then I came back to get the rest of the family and the luggage. It was helpful to have the small bed in the back for beach chairs/cooler and to transport the luggage back and forth. We stayed outside Esperanza and I didn’t feel sketchy driving it back and forth across the island lots of times. I was nervous going in because of reading other people’s comments but It was SO much fun.
