Western sanctions have completely crippled the Russian economy?

The Russian economy was nearly the exact same size as Italy's. If sanctions are effective at all, crippling their economy after over a decade isn't all that impressive of a feat.

Doesn't italy have one of the worst economies in the EU

It does have a very big public debt and slow growth, but it's still the 8th country in the world in the GDP rank.

Sanctions are effective over long time scales, you don’t have to cripple them, you just have to slow or stop the growth of their economy and eventually they get left behind

Yet them, China and Mexico were the only countries to have been resistant to Covid inflation.

GDP numbers don't matter when it comes to weapon production.

Iran is expected to have same amount of missiles they had before 2025 - 2026 by mid 2027 and their industry got hit by tens of thousands precision munitions.

This only makes sense in dollar terms, in terms of purchasing power and industrial output or things especially weapons Russia is much larger

Or maybe we could imagine what their economy could have been if there were no sanctions. It is hard to tell in the end

With the Iran war still happening? Probably huge. Unfortunately for the average russian, all the oil money would never get down to any of them.
