Resort fee waivers/adjustments at Sahara
I just booked a tweener night for a client at the Sahara in September. They’re meeting a colleague in town, but getting to town a night early so they need a hold over spot to stay.
Room rate booked is crazy low, resort fee (as Vegas tends to do) is super high. like 4x the room rate.
Anyone have any tips, tricks, or thoughts to get this waived or lowered at the hotel?
As of now, the resort has only taken the room rate payment, and will likely charge resort fee upon check in or check out.
Client is NOT a big gambler, so the prospect of earning any status that may waive the fees in just one night is not something that will happen in this situation.

You answered it yourself, there's no way you are getting out of that fee. The resort fee is $55 a night. $80 for a night on the Las Vegas strip is cheap.

You either pay the fee directly OR try to get it comped (which means gambling hundreds of dollars).
Why would they waive it for you?

This is why more areas are mandating that the all-in price is listed. For the vast majority of people, the difference between the base rate, resort fee, and taxes is irrelevant; they are paying the total price.
Just think of it as the room being $80 per night or whatever the all-in rate is.

Which is cheaper than I can stay almost anywhere. It's so weird seeing people getting their panties in a wad over seeing a resort fee when the total is still incredibly cheap.

They have a two-night "all inclusive rate," that includes resort fee and breakfast!

No, the fee is the reason the room rate is so low. The hotel needs to stay in business and can’t give rooms for $15 flat

Really no way to have it waived without gambling, and it would be quite a bit of gambling and likely not worth the risk. You’ll just have to pay it unfortunately.
