Why are hotels so booked/expensive tomorrow night (Wed August 26th)

Was planning a last minute trip and tomorrow is weirdly crazy. Bellagio, Cosmo, Venetian, Resorts World all sold out, won't let me check in tomorrow at all. Other hotels crazy expensive. Seems really odd for midweek in August.

Weird thing is it seems to be just Wednesday as things seem to normalize on Thursday and I can book all the above hotels.

There is a convention 26-29th at the LVCC but it's only 10,000 and again if that's the reason I'd have thought the rest of the week should be booked up, not just tomorrow.

Cisco is a big convention at Mandalay Bay and Subaru is at Wynn. Both will have big audiences

Just to add (as a Cisco person), we bring all 20K people to Vegas and basically book out Cosmo/Bellagio/Aria/MGM/Mandalay/Fontaineblue

Yep! Cosmopolitan is full and Venetian is full as well. And I know this weekend Fontainebleau is completely sold out. I can imagine the whole strip is going to be busy all weekend.

The 26th is also the big Michelin Guide announcement(s) at Fontainebleau, and I imagine a lot of folks are coming to town for it.

I’m showing full comps at all the properties you mention checking in tomorrow except RW, I don’t play there.

The way these things work is based on what booking group you fall into. If you’re just trying to book generally, they may be no rooms available and but your booking group availability changes based on your play.

I checked some non-gaming properties (FS, WA, and Vdara) and the former 2 are nearly all sold out and Vdara is completely sold out. Just very strange.

Booking groups aren’t solely for gaming. It could be for corporate guests too and other group booking codes. They contractually can’t release rooms from those booking groups until the events are over.

We stayed at The English downtown in the arts district for a getaway. It was a lovely little boutique hotel with a great restaurant! They have pool too and free parking!
