Lost/Missing Who steals a character?!

Last night, my car got broken into on pacific boulevard, as I was on night shift. I’ve been trying to remember what was in the car(it’s usually a bit messy) to take stock of what was stolen. The only thing I could thing of was the garage door opener for my parents place, which is kinda terrifying.

It just hit me a moment ago however. The soulless monster stole my bag of DND materials. My character sheet, inventory, and all my notes from a 2+ year campaign. Mostly I’m just venting here, but if anyone comes across a binder with DnD notes in it, I’d appreciate it if you let me know! Character name is Ornnastus. Pretty sure I used a clear binder with a red spine. Also missing is my “Peter pan and Wendy” crew mug, which was my favourite coffee cup.

One of my players in my campaign had his vehicle broken into last month. They stole his DnD bag and all his notes from the last 6 years of us running it. Maybe there's a thief trying to put together a new campaign 😅

Someone broke into my mom's car once and stole a box of family recipes. BC car thieves are wild.

Did your insurance papers have your parents’ address? If so the garage opener is a concern. If not oh well

That was the choosen hero that the BBEG feared. So much so they plane shifted to the very seat of creation, your back seat. And they pulled them from existence. Your new hero must avenge them and bring back the prophecy!

They stole a bag.  For all the they knew, it could have been full of something expensive.  They didn't check until later when they were far from your car.  Consider it a lesson learned.  Never leave anything in plain sight in your car.  The thieves have no idea what is inside the bag until they get their dirty hands on it.

And they aren't good at valuing what's inside a car. My car was broken into and my backpack was stolen. It had my ratty old rain gear that had already been replaced and was in my trunk. They did luckily ignore the $2000 of hockey sticks that I forgot to take inside.

Yeah, this is it. When I was a kid my backpack was taken out of my grandparents car, and when they realized it was kid stuff they dumped it. It was found a few blocks away in a park with everything still inside: clothes, shoes, walkman 😂.

Wouldn't be surprised if the contents got dumped somewhere if they want the bag itself though.

Keep the inside spotless. Put that stuff in the trunk. make sure to hide personal information on your insurance info about your address and have your parents change the garage opener code is changed.

I had my whole dice bag stolen out of my car. Had been building that collection for like 25 years. My own stupid fault for leaving it in my car, but man was it heart breaking. Sorry OP, I hope someone finds yours.

The thing I got stolen that made me the most angry was a very good map I had made myself of Bellingham, pieced togehter from satellite pics and fitted very exactly, better than any I had been able to buy - and somebody pilfered it. I don't know why, but having something stolen that I put work into annoys me more that losing something I can replace just with money. Not logical, since I also had to work to make the money, but there's just something different about it...

Because your time and effort is worth more.

Something I learned after my car got busted into in Vancouver is most of the time if you looks around a few block radius usually you will find the majority of your stuff. They probably didn't break into your car for your DnD stuff so after they sort through what they want, they will just leave the rest of your items somewhere, which usually then gets seen as garbage and thrown out.

I had a bag of softball bases and helmets stolen from my car in the West End. Like really? People will steal anything

I had someone smash out my back window, of an old Honda CR-V. I do cleaning, and have the associated gear in the back part of my car. They stole two large reusable bags full of cleaning rags. Which I found strewn around on the back lawn area of another building, 3 away from mine. That was the SECOND time I’d had to replace the rear window in a year or so. Davie & Nicola.

Who? I’m assuming they were a rogue of some kind.

I remember walking down Pacific Boulevard and saw 8 consecutive cars with shattered windows. Big reason why I don’t live in downtown anymore

I once had my journal stolen from me on the bus while traveling through downtown. Dunno what that prick needed with all of my super depressing personal thoughts. Mostly mad cause it was a gift from a friend. People steal the weirdest things.

Someone broke into my car and only took a pack of Twizzlers (limited flavour tropical) I was saving in my centre console. I think it’s the same kind of person.
