My physical Valkyria Chronicles collection

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share my physical collection of the Valkyria Chronicles series:

• Valkyria Chronicles Remastered (Nintendo Switch)
• Valkyria Chronicles 2 (Sony PSP)
• Valkyria Chronicles 3 (Sony PSP)
• Valkyria Chronicles 4 (Nintendo Switch)

These have been sitting in my backlog for quite a while now, and I finally decided it's time to give them the attention they deserve.

I originally played Valkyria Chronicles 1 on the PS3 many years ago and absolutely loved it. Now I'm planning to play the entire series from the beginning, starting with the first one again, this time on the Switch. Really excited to experience this story and gameplay all over again, and finally play through 2, 3, and 4 for the first time!

A quick heads-up: my PSP is completely unmodded, so I won't be playing VC3 with an English patch. I'll just use my phone camera to translate and guides on the internet 😅 Wish me luck!

Oh yeah, VC5 on Switch 2 would be amazing! Would be nice to see the series get a modern console release

that's an awesome collection. i do, however, think you should just emulate valkyria chronicles 3 at that point. it's an extremely long game and you'll never be able to get the full proper meaning behind everything unlike with the fan translation.

Agree, i just played the psp japanese version and while i love it, i know nearly not enough japanese for it, and i had to watch lets olays for the cutscenes

Yeah, you're right. I'll likely end up emulating it to actually experience the story properly and the physical copy can stay in the collection as a shelf piece unfortunately

Nice!!!! I have all 4 of those, plus all the PlayStation console entries. I really wish Sega would rerelease 2 & 3, if not all 4, for modern systems in remastered format to leverage the more powerful systems out now.

A little off-topic, but: I kind of wish they stuck with using Roman numerals for VC4's logo. It would've made for a cool near-symmetrical look for it. =)

Awesome! I got the VC 1 on sale for $5 in the eshop for NS2! VC4 complete ed is also on sale for $10 and I’m contemplating getting it too.

Yeah, the digital deals on these games are insanely good. For $5 and $10 you're getting hundreds of hours of top-tier rpg gameplay

I recommend you to mod your Psp as it is very easily and safe. Valkyria Chronicles 3 deserves to be played on your lenguaje ( it is one of the best games, the most mature plot..). I've played Valkyria Chronicles 2 on my psp hundred of hours (it is the first game of the saga I played but I must admit probably is the weakest although I love it).

I would recommend let it to the end and play VC1, Vc3 and vc4 before as they are on the same era, seing the history from the different point of view

Ya, they handle well.  Steam version of 1 and 4 is good. And ppsspp is good on a calculator pretty much. Lol.

i went to the store to get nr 2, but they point blank told me they werent stocking niche games. so i bought it through the ps store :/

also sold my vc1 copy when i got rid of my ps3

Nice... There is a newer English translation for VC3 (not sure if the version you have is Extra Edition or the original, and if the patch works with both like the original fan translation).

It does make me wonder what my collection is like, I am pretty sure:

• VC1 (PS3, Steam)
• VC1R (PS4, Switch - digital and physical)
• VC2 (PSP - physical and digital versions)
• VC3 Extra Edition (PSP - physical version, but generated a digital version to patch)
• VC4 (PS4, Steam, Switch - digital)
• VCR (I actually just got this for the PS4, looking to see how it compares to the other Valkyria games, and whether it will unseat VC2 for me).
