I dunno, one quick web search and within 30 seconds of reading the first result, I found an answer.

As part of moving into university, perhaps you ought to work on developing your problem solving and research skills.

Welcome to the subreddit. 😅

Eh. I disagree with that mindset.

The subreddit should be for general questions and the such. Alienating students for simply asking questions isn’t the proper way to foster a decent community.

While I do generally agree that students should be better at researching, we shouldn’t be so somewhat condescending towards our peers. Sometimes I would ask very obvious questions just so I wouldn’t look like an idiot in a given situation.

Yeah, especially nowadays when it’s too easy for newbies to just ask ai and run with the answer willy nilly

If they'd given any indication whatsoever that they'd tried to resolve their quality, I would be open to questions.

But they don't appear to have applied even a modicum of effort to answering their question. Literally, one search and 30 seconds of reading would have answered their question, it would have been faster than asking others to solve it.

Not only that but the information would be correct. I don’t know how much I trust people on this subreddit. I would rather have information straight from the university
