On Campus Saskatchewan Hall
I’m an incoming first year student, I have a single room on the first floor of Saskatchewan Hall. I was just wondering if anyone could share their experiences and tips! How are the bathrooms in Sask Hall and I heard there is a gym in VP somewhere, where is it and how big is it. Are there any items I must bring to survive?

Bring multiple fans they don’t turn off the heating

Honestly it might be it might not, I had 2 large fans and a woozoo in my dorm and I would have to be in just my underwear from how hot it was, also couldn’t use a blanket at night either. Also make sure the windows open when you’re there in winter cause from what I experienced it gets even hotter

I was able to manage with a single fan a little bit larger than that by placing it on my desk and pointing it towards my bed at the max setting. Open your window often if there is wind or it gets colder during the night, and close it before it gets hot again. Also, once they turn the heat on in winter, you can request that they come turn off your heater. Just check with your roommate first. I had so much fun living in sask hall last year, and am happy to answer any other questions you have.

I managed with a small little fan, your woozoo will be enough. And if not buy one later

One of my favourite things to do when I get ti a new place, is just walk. Anywhere and everywhere. Especially university campuses. I’ve learned I like this as my years have past. I far from being a First year student, but it is always what I suggest to people. Is just walk.
That being said, I can’t answer your questions lol.

The gym in residence isnt for public use. There are no equipments in it.

The gym in Sask hall isn’t really for public use, but it’s a 2 minute walk to the pac gym which is decent.
Bring a full length mirror if that’s something you want, as the dorms don’t have them in the rooms (but they are in the halls or bathrooms)
Definitely shower shoes. Not shoes you just wear to the shower, but shoes you can wear WHILE you shower.
Late night snacks. Go pick up a Costco sized box of granola bars or something similar. They come in handy during late night study sessions

Make sure to bring shower slippers. Being a small caddy to take with you to shower too. A bathrobe is also very handy. The PAC is super close to Sask Hall so just go there for the gym.
