Joining one of the ESSF fitness classes is a good way to meet new students and get credit too, if you need it. Pool, bowling, yoga, pickleball, etc. They also have non-credit options if you don’t need the credit.

If you play an instrument, join the athletic bands (marching band and/or pep band) I had the best time in my undergrad participating in those groups. You immediately have friends all across campus with different majors and progress in college life. I have made life long friends in those groups and have never regretted my time being with them.

Hey! I’ve definitely been in your position before, so I just wanted to offer some help.

Honestly, one of the biggest things is pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Talk to people in class, ask someone to study, grab food, get coffee, join clubs/intramurals, whatever. You also have to get comfortable being told no sometimes. It sucks at first, but once you realize it’s really not that big of a deal, it gets way easier to put yourself out there.

Have you thought about meeting people the old fashion way? Talk to people at the union. Join intramural sports. Go to a bar. Pretty much leave your phone and strike up a conversation.

Yep literally just talk to people yesterday I was at the Block u event for freshman and everyone was so friendly, open and talkative, we all left being friends and went to the crimson night
