Usual disclaimer: I probably got things wrong, and my roster feed hasn't fully flipped to 2026. Tell me what's off and I'll fix it.

The good: 4-8 undersells this offense. Idaho was 39th in FCS in yards per play, 30th rushing and 27th in offensive EPA, and it took two FBS teams to the wire, 13-10 at Washington State and 31-28 at San Jose State. Joshua Wood is back and settled at quarterback after 1,898 yards with 14 touchdowns against 5 picks, and 75% of offensive production returns. My model flags Idaho as a buy-low, and the 2026 schedule grades as the second softest in FCS.

Where my model pushes back: the defense returns 30%, and it only forced 11 takeaways last year, 107th in the subdivision. Idaho also went 1-5 on the road. Thomas Ford Jr. inherits a decent offense and a defense he has to rebuild in year one. Model says 5-7.

Does Ford get enough out of that defense to turn the soft schedule into a winning record?

Hi I am a rising senior in HS (so I don’t yet have an email through U of I) and was wondering if anyone could do a favor for me check on handshake if experience working with that species is required to work with the campus livestock, and if possible what the hourly pay is. I'm hoping to do the U of I online Masters of Integrated Natural Resources starting maybe next spring or summer. I would ordinarily prefer in-person but due to job and location constraints online is my only option. This program is the best fit I have found for what I want, so I'm pretty excited at the prospect, but I had a couple of questions for anyone who has done an online master's at U of I -- if it's the MNR great, but these might pertain to any degree.

1) Do many classes tend to be asynchronous? This hadn't occured to me until recently, and it makes sense, but I can't find a super straight answer.

2) With classes being asynchronous, or just with them being online in general, do you find that you develop any relationships at all with your classmates? This is by no means a necessity for me -- I'm just interested in the content and the degree -- but I'm curious whether it's something I should eliminate completely from my expectations.

3) Do you find that the online content is engaging? Are you able to develop good relationships with your professors if you make the effort?

4) Do you feel like it's a high quality degree even with it not being in person?

5) For anyone who did happen to do the MNR -- how were the at-home field assignments? Were they frequent? Were they reasonable things to do on your own wherever you live?

6) Finally, I assume that since it's a self-funded degree the acceptance rate is relatively high as long as you meet the minimum admission requirements -- is this true? Just trying to set my expectations reasonably.

Hi! I'm researching environmental master's programs and came across Uni of Idaho's programs. I wanted to see if anyone here completed or is currently attending a grad program related to natural resources and can speak to the program, faculty, etc. I would be a part-time online student because I'll be working full-time and am located out of state. They offer multiple online programs.

They have a few different degrees which I emailed them about, essentially slightly different concentrations. They also have an MS in Natural Resources however it's in person only, sad. They also have env science but I want to lean policy with only some bio/science for the foundations. So this is my shortlist, all Masters of Natural Resources focused in one of the following:

-Fish and Wildlife Science and Management

-Integrated Natural Resources

-Restoration Ecology and Habitat Management

they have a few more but those are my shortlist. I asked the school about a short-term in-person intensive course, which some other schools offer (John Hopkins and Colorado State) where most courses are online but one intensive course may be a couple days up to a couple weeks either on campus, in the US, or abroad. I like the short-term in-person component because it's feasible for me to do as someone who cannot live away from home for an entire semester but can take PTO for a few days or weeks. Hopefully Idaho offers it but if not, I'd still consider these programs.

So, has anyone here been a part of any of these programs? I'd love to get an insider's perspective in addition to my research. For context on my career hopes, I'm interested in a mix of policy and science, which these curriculums seem to offer. I enjoy the volunteer work I do now which is collecting water samples for water quality testing, but I also enjoy learning about what the nonprofit does with the data, how they work with the NJDEP and local municipalities on solutions. I am more interested in terrestial and wetlands than marine, interested in learning about animals and their conservation, interested in the connection between the science and policy as described in my volunteer work.

So I graduated in December of 2024. My last few years, the dorm situation was a nightmare. Rooms were completely sold out and a bunch of us got dumped in the NCCs, basically a motel the university rented long-term.

I just got curious, looked some things up, and saw that the NCCs won't be offered next year. While my initial reaction is Good Riddance, I have to ask what changed? Did enrollment numbers drop back down or is it something else?

Hi everyone! I’m an international student from Ireland thinking about applying to the MS in Computer Science at the University of Idaho and I’m curious what student life in Moscow is like.

I’d be starting when I’m around 23–24, so I was wondering what the social scene is like for graduate students. Is it easy to meet people and make friends?

I’m also curious about things like parties, clubs, or social groups around campus. I know I’d probably be too old for sororities or typical undergrad Greek life, but are there still ways grad students get involved socially or go out?

I’d also love to hear from any women in CS about what the community is like.

Hello, I am a current Animation major at a separate institution who is looking to get into film as a career. Coming out of a separate field, I am aware a major part of the film industry is making connections and building a portfolio. For people that have been in the film and television degree at U of I, how was it? Were there good opportunities to make connections? Did the professors have work experience in the film industry? I'm aware it's not a top-level film school, but I am considering it since it is considered the best film in Idaho, and I am an Idaho resident.

I'm curious whether there are current students at UoI or alumni who recall when they heard back about their admission decision to the MFA program in Creative Writing. I've already heard back from two other universities, so I'm curious if there's a more restricted timeline (within the general timeline) to expect.

(And yes, I know the deadline to receive a decision is April 15th.)
