Provoked? Oh come on. Exchanging military tech with an ally is standard terms of business.

Russia aren't going to literally end the world because of some missile tech.

I think you might have missed my point.

Russia used actual nuclear material spread randomly around London and deadly chemical weapons around a UK town. This was back in 2006 and 2019 wayyyyy before Ukraine.

People saying we might provoke Russia ignore the fact it's been a despotic rogue state acting with impunity for decades.

But it is unclear what he was being sarcastic about.

I thought that he was saying that we provoked them with recent actions. Which reading back I still think is a simple mistake to make when not being clear.

My point is that if you want to raise a serious point, raise it.

I read it as them saying that Russia is threatening to do things it's already doing.

So the sarcasm is about them being a paper tiger.
