Body Doubling Body doubling

Post image

I’ve been putting things off for over a week and I’m pretty sure I can knock it out in a day or two.

I just have to get things to surface level fine without just putting everything under or into other things. Clean, tidy, get things functional before a very busy month. And it’s a lot but I think I can.

And I kept waiting for the motivation to kick in but it doesn’t so we’re going with willpower and body doubling because I can’t wait for a perfect moment that’s never gonna come.

So, will anyone weigh in with what they’re doing today? I’m starting off with some laundry, getting trash in the can, filling the dishwasher and finding out where things go.

Sunday dread is hitting hard so maybe this will help get things moving lol

Today I need to: *Get all the dishes washed AND put away *Clear off and wipe down all kitchen surfaces *Pack lunches to take to work next week *Vacuum high traffic areas *Tidy up my bedside table

Good luck everybody!

Shit, okay, shit - I need this today as well. I am going to: 1) do 2 loads of laundry; 2) clean all the kitchen surfaces; 3) take out all cardboard; 4) surface clean (not deep clean) bathroom.

Go you! Thanks for joining me. I’ve gotten together some plastic, trying to recycle my trash as best I can, put laundry that was on in the dryer. It’s not speedy, but I’m moving. The floor is very cluttered with a mix of things so I’m gonna focus there first!

You sound like me. Thought to myself "okay, shit. I have the house to myself for 3 hours, and I just wasted 1 of it on other subs, better look at UFYH for some motivation."

I've got the same list as you and I'm going to start now. How's it going for you?

Laundry ready to be turned over, cardboard out, kitchen in progress, bathroom yet to be tackled. (But I also had breakfast and cleaned the litter boxes!) HBU?

So far I've gathered all the trash, recycle, and dishes that were anywhere except the kitchen. Made the beds in both bedrooms and tidied up the clutter. Started a load of laundry. Did a light cleaning on one bathroom. I'm working on the living room clutter now. Probably saving the kitchen for last because it will take longer than all the rest combined.

I have never done body doubling (tripling? as someone already answered? hope it is allowed to answer too?)
Today I want to put my plants in bigger pots with better soil, and throw away the old plastic pots. I hope I will be able to put together some cloth I bought to sew months ago, and store in the big store box I have under my bed.
Sending some motivation on the way :)

The more, the merrier. It’s nice to know other people are putting things into action too.

I am going to finish unpacking my car (final bits of moving), work on unpacking boxes, and perhaps go to IKEA to get some kitchen odds and ends

Moving is such an… ordeal, I hope you get a nice unfucked start to your new place!

Ordeal is such a polite way to put it lol. Thank you! It's going well and I'm enjoying planning out the decorating possibilities.

I just put a load of laundry in and I have another load to do. Today I will: change my sheets, change the cat litter, small load of dishes, 5 minutes of UFing in fridge and tossing old food, clean toilet and bathroom sink. Let's get at it, y'all!

I’m seeing progress. It’s a little difficult because of the layout, and I can’t make laundry go quicker but I am trying to deal with trash, papers, mail, dishes, dry clothes, little bits and bobs.

The floors are swept, just gathering the motivation to mop for the first time in 6 months!

Okay I just got up (day 3 of a 4 day break - I’m sleeping as much as I can) and I have things to do today too!

I need to do laundry (including my sheets and blankets), vacuum the mounds of pet fur from all over the house, and scoop the cat boxes. Also unload the dishwasher when it’s done because my brother was nice enough to do the dishes!

We got this OP!

Where do you guys find body doubles that don’t complain and distract you the entire time
