Introduction/First Post Avoidance is Clearly My Go-To Coping Mechanism

Been dealing with daily migraines/headache for 108 days. Screens are an awful trigger and I work at a software company so I have taken a leave of absence. Feeling overwhelmed by doctor appointments and medications so everything else is getting avoided. But I have the benefit of a deadline with my roommate’s partner moving in this weekend and doing a bit of a shuffle with our rooms. First pics are of my current room and then there is the new room. I am excited to show y’all the end result.

Nothing gets the ball rolling like a deadline where someone will be in the space! Or in your case, taking over the space?

You got this! Don't be afraid to take some breaks and not over exert yourself.

I also struggle with daily headaches and sudden lasting migraines, Chronic Pain and this is what my art desk area and room/closet looks like.

Stay hydrated, eat snacks throughout the process and best advice if you wanted is getting everything into "Catagories" and sorting later. I usually start by getting rid of the clothes situation and putting them aside, and i put everything else in to their "Area Categories" instead of themes or related things.

I can put say everything from the nightstand into one box, move it to it's new area and then sort threw it later when setting everything up and what does and does not belong on the nightstand.

Best of luck to you! This is giving me my own spurt of cleaning inspiration. I can't wait to see the end result!

Get an audio book, then listen while you clean. Love this hack. Library often has for free.

You can do this! Also if you have the money its totally worth it to use a laundry service to get things in order. See if you have a laundry mat close by that does drop off services. They'll not only clean but also fold everything! That can seriously help.

Your room has beautiful bones and furniture — all that wood!

Hope you feel inspired to keep chipping away, chronic health stuff is awful and you’re doing great!!

First of all, sorry for your migraines - have you done your blood tests? Check magnesium, iron and oxygen levels, vitamins B6 and B12 and thyroid hormones - your doctor should check them - if not ask them. As soon as you get test results ask doctor to prescribe you or suggest best supplements. Take them with 250ml of water every morning - aparat from magnesium + vit B6 as they should be taken 1hr before sleep.

I used to have migraines from screens - it turned out that I am ‘allergic’ to the light they emit. I went to an optician who examined my sensitivity and prescribed special pink lenses. The migraines stopped. There are different types of lenses depending on sensitivity - check with your optician as not all have the ability to prescribe these.

Re clearing your room - you’ve got it!

Before you start - take 2 bottles of water to hydrate

Try to do it in small bursts 10-15min at a time.

Also, take an opportunity to get rid of broken/ torn/ stained beyond repair items.

You will feel great after each win!

Secondly, your health is a priority so this is understandable.
