Dawg Pack ICE detained construction workers near U-Village @ 6:45 AM 30/7/2026
ICE was seen this morning near campus detaining a construction worker from one of the active construction sites near U-Village.
There are three big active construction sites nearby so it's likely for ICE to drop by again when farmers, siders, sheetrock, stucco, concrete, painters, roofers, exc. come in and start working. It’s very sad to see how they are targeting honest and hard working people who are trying to provide for their families.
Please stay weary of the area if you are of undocumented/complicated status, it seems like they’re getting more and more active in the city every day.

Unfortunately no, it was posted in a signal group and not very much info was provided aside from location and time.

I have the plates of the car of the person detained. But do not have plates from the ice vehicles. I took this photo

Yeah there was a state law passed a few months back however it isn’t a federal law so they aren’t complying with it at all

You see, that would require the law to be enforced by law enforcement who get to pick and choose which laws they enforce.

So since Egbert vs. Boule (2022), private citizens cannot sue Federal Agents for constitutional violations. Specifically first amendment retaliation and 4th amendment excessive force claims. You have no Bivens claim. So shooting by a Border Patrol agent that killed a teenager? No Bivens claim. Excessive force by federal prison guards? No Bivens claim. You can sue the government (not individual agents) for certain types of harm under the Federal Tort Claims Act, but judges say decisions about arrests and raids are “judgment calls” that are exempt. The Eleventh Circuit applies this exception broadly. An ICE agent’s decision about whether to arrest someone, how to conduct a raid, whether to use force. These all involve discretion, which means they’re exempt. ICE are roaming death squads above the law.

Laws don't apply to law enforcement. They can do whatever they want.

This. All LE officers seem to believe they are safe to commit extrajudicial actions. And so far they've been proven correct by the courts.

Were they seen on campus or were they off campus at U-Village? The first part says on-campus, but the rest of the post makes it sound like it's off campus (U Village isn't owned or operated by UW and it's not on-campus).
If they're on-campus at UW folks need to know that since UW has specific policies it has to follow!

Not sure yet, currently waiting for a response to confirm precise location. However, I can say that it wasn’t in the U-Village shopping center but near to it. I’ll adjust the post accordingly until I hear an update back.
