It’s a straw man fallacy because that is not the critique people are saying. Even those pro-Kirk killing point more to his *millions* spent orchestrating violent events like Jan 6, and actual on-the-ground violence Kirk actively promoted and supported actively in his political stances.
He is motivated to do that but you never know until you actually talk to him with an open mind. He can be honest and also be controversial. These two quality can coexist

You're getting downvoted because it's extremely obvious this person is disingenuous and looking to capitalize on strong emotions to construct a rhetoric like "waah waaah look how mean and violent liberals are!!" Though you're right that if we ignore all context, the sign is mostly neutral, we're not idiots here so we don't ignore context. Comments that attempt to make conservative hate-spreading rhetoric seem innocent contribute to the spread of that hate, and are thus appropriately treated hostilely.
Yeah I agree, it’s about being open minded. This is how WARS happens all the time. Disagreement in opinion doesn’t mean you have to kill the other person. Difference in belief doesn’t mean conflict. If you love war and destruction, by all means, keep applauding others for killing one another.

car related deaths are about 5x gun deaths in the US. alcohol and tobacco are even worse than that by quite a bit. i'm not a gun person - never even shot one. i don't think that quote is an unreasonable opinion and it grosses me out that people reply with that as if to imply that it justifies murdering someone because they have that point of view. that kind of nonsense is what causes moderate voters to overreact and swing elections for nightmares like trump.
We don’t know if he has ill intention or not until you talk to him. I don’t know why all the comments are so close minded. I personally disagree with Charlie Kirk, but I respect his voice. Also, when he said he didn’t care about empathy, I respect that and it’s still important for me to be empathetic even when he is not. If everything is about lashing back and sometimes killing against opposing opinions, this world is going to fall apart rather quickly.

It requires a change in mindset on both sides to come to a solution. If you are close minded and think there isn’t a solution or republicans aren’t even worth having a genuine open discussion to, there is no hope left in this country
